This link isn't work safe, just a heads up.
That being said, it looks like a really cool artbook, showing that even the greats can draw some really dirty things once and a while. Bruce Timm doesn't shock me all that much, but Carl Barks was a bit surprising, as well as Bob Kane.
So, that being said, have any of you delved into the depths of sleaze for fun or profit?
I'll leave my answer with a simple yes. :P

In 4th grade was I was dared to draw a naked lady for a dollar.
Well... let's just say I'm a dollar richer.

When I was in high school, as hormonal levels changed, I noticed I was drawing out much more nudity =P
If I scanned in some of the 1st renditions of my current comic from high school many issues would have an A rating. Looking back it's pretty funny. And seeing how simple it was to re edit the story to not have the scenes indicated how blatant my smut was at the time ^_^
But hey, my friends liked it and I made many comedy comics featuring endowed super heroes and such that was always a riot in class since so many teachers seemed to find them! XD

99.9% of the samples shown for that book are more art than porn, which is the only thing I'd consider "dirty."
For some reason I really like that little girl centaur on that disney spread. What an adorable chara design!
My answer to the question would be "Never." ... Except the time I was sketching the actors in a porn flick. They were muscular and the lights were just right, and I suddenly got the urge to draw them. Porn flicks are great for sketching because the actors don't go anywhere, and essentially hold one pose for you with slight variations for you to choose from. :D

I don't find them dirty really, but since it is nudity, I don't know how other people will react to it.
As for the porn thing, I should consider doing that sometime.

At first, I was shocked that there was Disney stuff on there... but then I realized that sometimes artists just need to... draw out of the box.
I know I did, several times (yes, I'm fulfilling a stereotype), but I (like other artists) just get bored of drawing such "innocent" characters all the time.
To be honest, though, those guys (and gals if there are any) are really good at drawing their characters in those situations.
It's also good anatomy practice.

Yawn. A boys club collection of naked girly pics. Been done. A BILLION times over.
I need to get a bunch of my girl friend artists together and gather our naughty boy drawings.

It's not as fun as normal drawing though, only good for fun. Doing it for money just ruins the fun.
Nekkid boy pics eh Barb? ^^ I don't see anything wrong with that, but men and women nekkid together is pretty fun too ^_^
Oh, there I go. I didn't actually mean that in a sexy way, just from the point of view of drawing the figures of both sexes, but if is taken that way, that's cool too :P

Well, yeah. That's actually the most fun of all.
Well, for me anyway.
*So many drawings that will never see the light of day....la la la la...*
And profit, no. It would definately take the fun out of it - for me anyway.

Nope. Never. But I always sort of wanted to. Mostly just to practice anatomy. (Yes, I'm serious. I'm a complete nerd.) Plus, it would be just amusing to take any regular everyday scene and remove all the clothes. (People waiting in line at the bank, delivering pizza, taking notes in class... Everything is funnier nude.)

I've also done it in reverse. Sounds interesting already, doesn't it?
Anyway, you select any nude you like, sketch him or her and then - gasp! - add clothing. The exercise actually helps you to get a better idea how clothing must drape in a lively manner in order to convey the illusion of reality.
Take shoes or boots, for example. These items take up significantly more area then many artists realize. If you visually build a shoe or pump around a foot, sketching in everything from the sole to the heel to the upper, you gain a real feel for volume and - not the least of it - gradually, your art begins to look better.

I don't know about the guys here, but I and a lot of artists I've known always start by drawing their figures nekkid. ^_^
It's just a common convention. Whether you use a nude for photo reference or draw it from your head (my method).
But having the figure intentionally nude though has a different meaning ^^
And then making them intentionally sexual is another thing altogether. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not too into drawing people in a sexual way. I've done it, but it's not something that's that fun or interesting to do... Nice to see other people do it though.

Yeah I draw all chars nekkid by default minus privates. I also have nekkid pics of them I call "clothers" so I can try new clothing options via layers.
Other wise baggy clothes really look strange.

I do that to. I don't want my characters to look off balanced, so its better to draw them naked, then add clothing on them that would fit right. ^_^

Hehehe, Anyway, anybody thought about doing an "A" comic on DD? My "Pantsless Warrior" or "Pantsless Office Lady" idea doesn't seem to have much going for it past a gimmick. Hmm, maybe the Office Lady one could work. I dunno.

I've actually considered my own little cute Adult's Only comic. Something along the lines of the cheeky old comic strips you'd see in Playboy back in the day, or like some of the more mainstream European stuff. it's more a passing thought really. I'm much too busy with my other comics to even start something like that.
