Joseph Johnson, aged 28, from Chicago, is facing first-degree murder charges for allegedly killing a man while they played games together on an Xbox 360.

Johnson and Danny Taylor, aged 24, were allegedly playing video games at an apartment when tension escalated and they got into a fight. This led to Johnson allegedly shooting Taylor in the back of the head.

None For MultiformatTaylor's girlfriend found the victim dead at his home on April 5th. Before entering, she saw the suspect running out of the door with a gun in his hand. She found Taylor with gunshot wounds in the back of his head: the joypad was still in his hand, and the game still running, say the police.

Sources reckon the game being played at the time of the murder was possibly "Call of Duty": a game which tasks players with violently shooting each other in a tense war-like situation.

Totally wrong. It merely simulates war.

It doesn't 'task' you to kill a target. Yeesh, that's far cry 2. Also, it might as well be paintball. Call of Duty isn't that violent. You shoot bright pellets at eachother filled with paint.

If it was Call of Duty 5, then yeah, it is violent. But that's World War 2. WW2 was FAR worse than what a video game could simulate.

So, now because a video game was present it's the game's fault. Not the fact that the kid's a violent fugitive. Because a video game was present. That makes total sense.
