I find this site so confusing! Anyone else have one of these? Any one else very confused? I don't understand how they pay me and how much they pay me and all that jazz.

I have one i think there is an option for putting your earnings in a bank account or maybe PAYPAL but i'm not sure. Never sold enough to withdraw anything!

Back in the day I remember that you had to make a certain amount before they would pay you. I think the lowest was $25. Don't know if that's still the case though.

Basically, there is a base price for all the merch, and then you set how much you want your commission to be above that price. So if their base price is $10 and you sell them for $10, you get nothing.
I'm not sure what the current rules for actually getting your money is, as we haven't really sold anything through them in a while.

I'm also doing that other comic "Space Waffles ".
We now have a podcast called The Random Pirate Comics Show!

We've got a cafepress site too.

He were hounded and hounded to make one. Nobody ever bought anything from it.

Can't say I don't understand. Thirteen bucks for a coffee mug? It's either that, or give it away for free. Cafepress prices are really expensive. Obscene even.

I've never used cafepress, nor have I ever ordered anything from it, but from what I've heard, the stuff just isn't very good quality for the prices that they charge. Most places like that only do a "payout" when you've reached a certain amount of money, usually $20 per quarter.

I had one, but it's nearly abandoned now.
The site's navigation system is just too crowded for me.

The problem with something like cafepress is that it's basically a "print-on-demand" service. No bulk discount or anything like that. Plus they have sort of a "name", so they can get away with charging a bit more because people seem to trust them more than whatever "unknown" company you could go to instead.

It's good if you don't know that your products are going to sell, or if you want someone else to handle all the hard work. The alternative is to send shirt orders to a printer, get them much cheaper by ordering them by the hundreds, sell them at a decent price, but package and ship each one yourself, and again, not being sure that you'll sell all your product.

Yeah, names can make a prices go up. It's like buying another chunk of worth to augment one's self pride.

I think conventions and forums are best place to do the second route.
