Just going to throw this out here, has anyone read this manga? Personally I would highly recommend it. The storyline is really good but more specifically the art is just phenomenal. Hiroaki Samura is an amazing artist, he can convey the action of an entire scene just through focusing on shots of peoples hands. Its just visually a fantastic story, and the writing is really good as well. Plus Samura is a big Black Sabbath fan and drops hints of that in the manga, which is amusing :D

I like it, but it tends to drag out quite a bit. I'm kind of glad they switched from monthly to digest-only printing because it's much easier to read in longer format :)

Gorgeous art and handles the adult themes very well :) Most other samurai manga/storys focus on blood-fest gore (i.e. vagabond) or yaoi so i tend to pass them up.

Blade of the Immortal is totally hawt. <3 I love the comic~
On a related note, I hear there's going to be a Blade of the Immortal anime series. I'm a bit worried but otherwise, I hope it'll be good!

Oh my lordy lou - it is one of my biggest regrets that I have yet to read Blade of the Immortal - I've read fifteen pages or so, which got me wanting more, but I've looked all over for the collected volumes, only to find that no one has the first one! *stabs* They've got volumes four, eight and eleven, but not any of the others! *double-stab*
... As soon as they get it back in stock, I'm ordering it, because it's gorgeous.

eBay oofers alot of the early volumes for pretty cheap. I think I bought one of the earlier volumes for a little over $6, including posting.
BOTI is one of the more costly of the books I buy regularly, so any relieve helps.

Its the promo for the anime series. It actually looks pretty good, of course time will tell but it looks like they're not going to pull any punches in terms of the style of the comic. Too bad they can't really translate the sketching art style of the manga but that would be unreasonable to ask for I think.

As with most of my comic reads I read it through my local library which had the first 4 TPBs sadly they don't have any of the others. Actually this is the only manga I've ever read apart from a collection of Tezuka's short stories... but yeah it's great

Yeah, I read it. I drags a bit much. Even Berserk manages to remain incredibly exciting despite 30+ volumes, but BotI just takes so long to get everywhere. It seems like the authors afraid to take risks with pacing.
