It is a great game but, to get the most out of it, you really have to get involved with everything in it
I did everything in the game and it only took me about 20 hours. My complaint was that by the time you earn enough money to buy the big places, there's no more challenge to making money, so you start earning tons of money and have absolutely nothing to do with it unless you want to lose it all playing their dumb in-game gambling.
The could have extended the playability by having better 'job' quests- as it is the randomized quests are just 'fast travel to X, kill 3 hobbes, fast travel back to Y and collect a paltry sum'... It seems like it would have been incredibly easy for them to have the same type of quest, but more bad guys, deeper in a dungeon, etc. I would even have preferred escort quests to the simplistic ones they implemented. There's no challenge and no reward to any of them.
If you went through the game as I did shooting gargoyes and scouring the map for keys as I did, there's no reason to revisit any of the areas unless you get a wife and she wants sex. Basically the entertainment value of the game degenerates to wiping out an entire town and coming back the next day to do it again.
