i'm one of those lucky people that actually experience the battlefield series when it was popular. i still have very fond memories of attacking with apcs and tanks and in 2142 being in camouflage or attacking with a big mech.
now the battlefield series has kind of slowed down, and watered down. but i still have nostalgic memories. so i bought the DLC content on Xbox live that has 3 maps setting in ww2.
it's a watered down version of such a great game. it's 12 v 12 compared to 32 v 32 on the comp.no heli and the planes kinda sucks. tanks are easy to kill with bazookas.. im not much of a fan of ww2 setting.
i'm hoping this is just a try out for something bigger like full campaign maps like in bf2. now that i cant play comp games on this computer, i want bf2 or 2142 experience on consoles.
oh well, for some reason i still got nostalgic when i played it today. especially when i heard that battlefield song; "dun dun du dun dun"

I loved playing the demos for BF1942 and BF1942:SW and BF2, I even bought 2142 but my computer was bad, so I had to play on the lowest possible setting. I am sure it was very fun on high settings (it was still fun on low, just not as fun as it could have been). I did play BF: Bad Company, but it wasn't the same. Don't get me wrong, it was a great game, but it wasn't like the classic Battlefield.
I haven't heard all that much about 1943, and from what you are saying, it's not that great? that's a shame and it would be good if they made a new, larger, more classic Battlefield game.

Battlefield 2142 was what turned me off PC games. It never worked until I got my own computer, and the experience I read about in magazines seemed nowhere near the game I actually experienced. The vehicle controls were terrible for that game, but they seemed like the only way of standing a chance at anything not on foot.

I really enjoyed Battlefield 1942 back in the day, before I was tired of WW2. Now, I don't think I can go back. It could be an absolutely terrific games, but I won't invade Normandy again.

2142 was actually my fav game, the vehicle control was good..but i usually drive in 3rd person until i got used to it and then i switched to 1st. i had a really good pc at the time and maxed everything out...i really liked that game.
ive played 1943 more and its growing on me. i hope ea continues this trend and make more bf type games and maybe a MAG like game for 360.
sniper weapon should have more setting instead of far and really close.
stupid jeeps dont go up the hill.
why does my bazooka not go in a straight line?
easy to kill tanks

Auto-aim everywhere. Because approachability is all about giving the hardcore players the same cheats as everyone else.
Totaly not the stupidest concept ever. Things are looking worse and worse for Bad Company 2.
Aside from the one thing I unfortunately need to bag on EVERY FUCKING FIRST PERSON SHOOTER for. Game's fun, the player base right now seems pretty new, hopefuly with time it wont feel like such a duck hunt, though even then I'm not going to feel any sense of achievement with the bloodymumblegrumbecondescendingbullshitmoneygrabbingsonsof.
