It's funny how people can take a simple term like "New World Order", and automatically attach it to an underground conspiracy. The term exists independantly of the idea people have created around it.

But either, this is the sort of thing you'll get from people who can see a conspiracy in anything, so I don't really see the point of it.

Do people still have that Cold War stigma that communism=evil? Are we not past that? I thought by this point that people had come to accept that communism is just another form of government; one that doesn't tend to work particularly well in practice, but it's a nice idea. I think a world leader who sees the ideal of everyone being treated 100% equally isn't a bad thing, it's just that the major countries that attempted communism didn't do it right, or the people didn't all play along, etc.

Anyway, if you think the very concept of Communism is comparable to Nazism just because the most famous countries that attempted it just happened to have a serious conflict with the US, then you need to read what communism actually is.

I think the reason most people dislike communism is because the sort of people who wouldn't benefit from it (i.e. people with money and power) tell them that it's bad.

Also there's that everything you create belonging to the state thing. People like to get credit for their work.

Agreed. That video was completely moronic. What made it even more retarded apart from the Hitler thing was the music. In what way did what Obama say even vaguely give rise to the view of him as a conspiracy theorist? I think the Republican Youtubers need to try a little harder to make their failed attempts at propaganda more convincing.

In my opinion equating the producers of that video with Republicans is like saying Obama is a Communist.

Paranoid exaggeration and just a trifle specious. The problem with Communism is that most people equate it with Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao and their bloodbaths/purges/cultural revolutions/gulags etc. Simply put Marx was a bad historian and totally misread human nature.

Communism can work on a small level in pre-modern cultures (rural villages etc. Read up on peasant culture in China, Russia etc) But trying it in towns and with a money economy it runs afoul of people being people and setting up patterns of interaction and hierarchy that leads to massacre, dictatorship and totalitarianism.

Since the old world order is not doing so well right now and the UN is coming to be seen as a corrupt failure maybe it's time for a New World Order. I just hope it's not Orwell's vision (inspired by what the Nazi and Stalin globalism really meant) of a boot smashing into the face of the people forever...
