Hi, I'm making an animated banner with the idea that the static image (let's say it's a plane) is moving across the wide banner smoothly. Sounds easy, right?

My only experience is with gifanim program, which is basically piling 1 picture on another ad infinitum, to make an animation. I'm thinking, this is an awful lot of gifs just to make a static image smoothly slide across the banner space...

Surely there is an easier way to do such a simple animation for the banner? Can anyone help?
