So in July the Animatrix-esque Batman comes out, AND so does this. A great month for animation.

An animation class alumni of mine, Justin Ridge , worked on this show for quite some time. I think he's working over at Lucasfilm Animation now. ....Lucky bastard, and he's younger than me. Some people are just gifted.

It's about time.
Truer words were never spoken.
I was beginning to think that this show had been secretly canceled.

I prefer watching Avatar subbed in Chinese. That's probably just my odd preference even though I can understand what the characters are saying.

Just finished Season 2 on DVD. I really liked Eps. 15. It was a great sendoff to Mako.

That'd be some relationship to tell their kids.
"Well, son, the first time I met your father he was trying to kill me and take over the world.

Well, I just watched "The Boiling Rock", which, apparently, aired on April 25 without my knowledge. And let me tell you: it was AWESOME. Especially the ending.
Nothing is more satisfying than watching Mai and Ty Lee beat up Azula. Nothing.

It's fascinating a little scary how invested people get in the pairing of Katara with whatever boy in Avatar. But I already know she's ending up with Appa, and I'm creating my Katappa fan site. There's just a little more HTML to do.

I would pay to see the kind of message boards on that site.

Maybe she does like them hairy.
Zuko and Aang certainly don't qualify.

Y'know... if Nick is really wanting to put as much stock into this show as I have read on the net I could see a really intriguing way to continue this show past this season.
I would like the idea of Aang seeing Katara and Zuko getting together after defeating the fire lord and spazing out. Going all "I did everything for you people and I'm rewarded like this?!" or something.
Aang flies off angry, the season concludes, and next season Aang is the big villain :3 Trying to put together the world and 'fix' the balance thing. But using methods that would make him into a tyrant and opposed.
Well, I'd watch it anyway.

That would kind of go against every character development that has occurred in the show. It's all about finding peace, harmony, and balance in the world. If they defeat Ozai and Zuko is still and hot-headed brat then nothing was really gained character-wise.
I could see a fourth season concerning the spirit world, but overall I'd be glad to see it end with this season. It just makes sense for an epic tale which has been leading up to this not to drag past it's foregone conclusion.

Not Zuko, Aang would be the one to become the new 'villain'.
But that's just fanboyism. In actuality I am very glad they are ending it where they intended. I hate shows that are forced to continue past their initial ending point due to popularity. They tend to lose all meaning as everything is just sorta... well.. forced. Shows like that lose their charm and die off.
The whole Aang being the villain thing just kinda popped into my head. I would be interested but that's mostly because I'll miss seeing adventures in this world. Ah well, I still have season 3 of Dexter to look forward to.

Hey, did you guys see the final episodes of Avatar?
I must say I was incredibly pleased with how it turned out. The fight scenes were really well done and the resolution the show came to seemed very fitting, and yet still appropriate to the Nickelodeon audience.
I hope they leave the story alone, because it feels like they ended it at the perfect time. Avatar is a good example of what can happen if you carefully write something and do your best not to compromise its integrity for money and longevity (like they did with Simpsons and X-Files).

Great ending to a great show.
Only gripe I had is that
Aang had to use his Avatar state to beat the Fire Lord. Don't get me wrong, I love the avatar state. It's really awesome seeing him do all his magic in that state. But I was wanting to see Aang find a way to beat him without the easy fix. I thought that was the whole point of removing his ability to use it so that we could see him be the hero without it.
I also wasn't too keen on Aang and Kitara getting together, but that's no big deal really. Very expected as well.
Best part was definitely Zuko vs his sister. And they left it slightly open by not letting us know what happened to Zuko's mother. Though from his smile in the scene after she is obviously alive somewhere.

Don't get me wrong, Simspons (and X-Files) are dear to my heart, but both should have ended several seasons before they did.

The X-files was tired after the first couple of shows.
The Simpson's gets tired, goes crap, gets better, is great, and just cycles away in a marvellous spiral. :)
That show illustrates that there is no "inevitable" downward trend really.
