Believe me, I was anti-Avatar when I first caught a glimpse of it. Then I watched the show, and it was awesome.

Crap I missed it while watching Survivorman.

Eh, I'm usually glued to Discovery anyway, so I'll catch it. Between that and Dirty Jobs, it's my favorite channel.

But back to Avatar!

... Ozai is a lot prettier than I expected.

I caught on to Avatar gradually. The episode which finally convinced to follow the series seriously was the season 1 eps where the kids rescued earthbender slave miners on that sea rig. When Kitara gave her little speech, it somehow reminded me of the Nausicaa anime, and at that point I was convinced.

I love avatar. The first time I heard of it I didn't expect it to be all too good, but it turned out to be better than expected.

Apparently there was a little chibified avatar after the show. I missed it though.

The chibi short was about the main characters arguing over which element is better by a bending war. They all got to DBZ power levels. Sakka was like GOD because no matter how much abuse he took he just couldn't die.

I missed the short where they parodied fandom shipping by asking each other out to a prom.

Lawlz I saw the prom one on youtube...but I can't find the other one.

I really need to subscribe to the channel that shows it. (Was it Nick2 or Nicktoon?)

For the record that show rocks.

Watching the show in such small doses of half an hour with ads really pisses me off. I might just get the DVDs, since they're coming out so quickly. First 5 episodes come out on DVD in October.

But I liked the first episode. It's gonna be cool to see more of Ozai this season. He's not exactly scary looking, but he has Mark Hamill for his voice actor which is a plus. I'm bummed that Mako died and I hope Iroh won't be sidelined this season. I want to see him confront his brother.

Also apparently there's a big Roku flashback coming up in a few episodes that was hinted at in the first episode. That'll be cool. Roku's awesome.

Yay for 10 straight weeks!

Who do the fans ship Azula with nowadays? I'm sure the scene with her in a nightie has instigated a whole new wave of shipping.

I don't know, but if you ask me her character is even darker than Ozai. Overall it was great and watching Aang with hair gave me a new perspective on the character.

So second episode was sort of...meh. It felt like filler, but I guess it's hard to do a really solid second episode. The Avatar seasons of the past haven't gotten good up until episode 6 or so. This episode did have Iroh, although no speaking lines which was kind of weird (they MUST have a new voice actor for him by now).

But this episode had one of the best lines I've ever heard in Avatar; Zuko is talking to Mai and says "You're so beautiful when you're hating the world."
