Absinthe is the striking, confident leader of the emerging "Edenite" hedonism cult. Sol is an ex-army depressive who's wondering if he should end it all. Comfort is a woman who left behind her husband and three beloved children for the week to attend a business conference.

What do they, and many others have in common? They're all aboard the Paradise Hotels, a series of 5 luxury ships orbiting their home planet. In a civilisation which has not seen old age nor disease in over five hundred years, death is rare. But when a mysterious plague threatens the world below, all of the people on board will be deeply affected in different ways by the resultant chaos.

The story follows a group of strangers whose stories become inevitably intertwined, centered on the flagship Atlantis Paradise.
