When I look at the stats of my comic, are they accurate?
Am I really getting 200 views or am I just getting 20?
Because it only goes up in units of 10 and 200 does seem like a lot when you think about it.
Or am I just being cynical?
Help, Support and Suggestions
Are the comic views multiplied by ten?

But the thing is, if they are multiplied by ten....Why?
What is the point of making a system to track visits that gives a deliberately wrong answer?
Is it just to make us feel good about ourselves?
Making one that takes the correct reading and then multiplies it seems more trouble then just making one that gives right answers.

No, it's 200, the system just rounds the numbers to ten's to simplify things.
It's important to note this isn't individual visitors though. Every page you look at on the comic bounces the counter up by 1(So you would get a lot of hits if someone went through you're archive).

Thanks for that!
I got paranoid when I read a comic about Richard Nixon that has not been updated in about a year where the creator claimed the numbers were exaggerated.
Now I feel good about myself again!

Aww darn... I'm kind of disappointed that it counts every single page viewed. I'd like better to see how many unique IPs visit the page each day. D:

People who are interested in better hit tracking should sign up for an extremetracker (or similar service) and then paste the code into their page template. :) It's much more accurate and will tell you interesting things, like where you are linked from...

Whew am I glad! Instead of thinking I got 8 to ten pageviews a day, I got 80 to 100! :D

It counts every page load as a view, not every person. So if you have 40 pages and two people read them that day you'd get 80 views :)

Wait, it's not a logarithmic scale on these dial thingies?
Is there a way to actually see *numbers* instead of just the gauges? Readouts>Gaugues>Idiot Lights. :)

GoodluckfoxClick on the "Stats" section of your comic control panel. It's on the very end.

Extreme Tracker is a free web service that will track various statistics on your page, by way of a little bit of code (which they give you) and you must plug into your HTML someplace.
http://extremetracking.com/
It can tell you cool things like what country most of your readers are from, where you're being linked from, etc.
