I ordered a new Dell and it's coming with a 30 day trial of Gametap, so I was wondering if anyone uses it, is it any good etc.?
Just looking over the library of games it does have some of my old favorites, but how well do they run, does it work in Vista, etc.? Do you download them or do you have to constantly be streaming them?
Sorry, lots of questions, but that's how I get when it comes to my gaming :P

From my understanding, you download most of the game (so there's no extra load times or anything), but certain key parts require the use of the actual Game Tap program to run (so you can't download a game and play it still once your subscription runs out). From what I could see the games ran fine, but really it depends on the quality of your computer. Most modern computers should be able to handle most of the games they provide, but I can't speak for Vista in any way.
Still, if you're looking for a nice (legal) way to play hard to find or otherwise obscure games, Gametap is pretty good.

I never used Gametap. Google has made paying for things obsolete. :P
But I'd be lying if I said Sam and Max wasn't damn tempting.

Yeah, the Sam and Max episodes are the main reason I'm pumped about it.
My goal will be to beat those within the trial period, so if I decide to cancel it I'll have played what I really wanted it for :P

I prefer getting Sam and Max from Telltale. $35 for the whole season and they send you a CD at the end so you don't have to rely on their download service if you ever delete the game and have a hankering to replay it five or so years down the line. Besides, they are only up to episode 5 at the moment, so you wouldn't be able to get the whole season, anyway.

That' cool. I may do that as well just to send my support their way. I think what they're doing is really awesome.
