Anyone remember Creatures?

Years ago, I bought Creatures 2 and spent the hours daily alternating between nurturing and torturing the cute, if somewhat stupid little creatures known as Norms.

Just a couple days ago I downloaded Docking Station and have been reliving my love of Creatures since. I'm currently on a quest to create the most severely retarded norm ever, and while I haven't got that far yet, I did manage to get one which aged so fast it died in less then a minute of been born.

It was kinda freaky actually, after it hatched from the incubator it walked towards the elevator and by the time it got there it was already old and shriveled. Kinda reminds me of one of those birth to death pictures... =P

I still have Creatures 3: Internet Edition (which was basically "Magma Norns", Creatures 3 and Docking Station all on the one disk).

I haven't played it for ages though.

Do you reckon its worth getting Creatures 3? I've only got Docking Station on right now and I'm wondering if the upgrades worth it...

In my opinion, Creatures 3 is basically the same gameplay as Docking Station, but with more rooms, and set on a spaceship.

We now have a podcast called The Random Pirate Comics Show!

Man, those were good times =o
It's been ages ago, still have creatures 1 and the mixed together version thingie somewhere. I still remember all the walking them together to make them kiss and the frustration of not making a baby xP.

Also, I usually brought a boy and a girl together to... the cloud, a top the castle, where they had no where else to go x3. That'd speed it up usually xP.
Before you insult someone you should walk a mile in their shoes.

That way when you do, you are a mile away and have their shoes.

You could download Creatures Docking Station. Its free and pretty easy to find, just look it up wikipedia and it'll have a link there.

Ah Creatures ^_^ I sucked at it, but still I loved it. I have a copy of the Internet edition too, it is an improvement on Docking Station in that you get a LOT more for your Creatures to do and see, not to mention a lot more "agents" work with Creatures 3 than Docking Station.

But yeah, I used to spend most of my time teaching mine to talk, by the time it was smart enough to fend for it's self and stay away from Grendels it was too old ¬_¬ I might have to dig out my copy of 3/DS and give it another go, I haven't played it in about 2 or 3 years.

Anyone know what's happened to Creature Labs? They kinda fell off the face of the internet a few years back.

They went bankrupt in 2003 but got bought by Gameware Development.

shame, I guess it shouldn't be a surprise, although Creatures was good it was a very unappealing game for the average gamer, and too much work for your average virtual pet fan.
