I'm sure this has been asked so many times before, but I'm looking for an inexpensive (possibly free) way to advertise my freelance art business through web banners. Does anyone know of an effective web banner service/site? (I'm looking for a sturdy, easy-to-use, non-shady (legal) one.
Thanks! :)

Never mind- I found a free service called Subculture Clique . Comics like The Devil's Panties use this banner exchange. If you post their banners, they will post yours. I created an account last night and my pageviews have already doubled. :)

It's been working OK so far--it's kind of weird how she has her stat page set up (you basically have to be the "Top Banner" in the webring if you want to generate any views), and I don't know if the pageviews reflect on my DD stat page. But at least it's nice to have a free banner service, and at least I'm getting the word out.

Banner exchange here might be helpful. I've done it myself and most of the people have reciprocated but it's not necessary. (I plan on adding Last Call to my fave reads. :D) Anywho, you could try some of the other ideas on the forum like onlinecomic.net and project wonderful. You don't have to even advertise, but selling space might help.

Thanks albone :) Project Wonderful makes me leery. I don't like the fact that I have to bid, yet there's only a chance that my ad might show up. It's like eBay for ad space. That's not cool. ...I'd rather pay for a space where I know my ad will run for a length of time, ya know?

Try
www.hotwebcomics.com/banner_exchange/signup.php
it's pretty cool,
there are a few others as well.

This is a little off topic but it is a banner related problem, so perhaps someone on this thread can help.
I have got a banner that I have drawn myself, but I cant figure out how to actually make it work as a link in HTML.
I can find how to make a link from an image on the internet, but not from an image that is just stored on my computer.
