I know this doesn't ahve much to do about comic but I'm sure someone on drunk duck can help me. I'm wondering if there is a free animator that I can download and won't deliver horrible viruses to my computer.
I'd buy macromedia flash if I actually had any type of income but sadly I don't. Can anyone out there help!

GIF Animator is pretty good, the thing is, the pic has to be GIF format (go figure) and you can't do voices or anything. It's really just animated loops is all you can make. I've used it once or twice.

As for FREE software, I'm not sure about many. GIF Animator will be a pain in the butt if you do anything other than sprite comics.
Flash has a free demo... and I think you can uninstall/reinstall that one till your heart's content... at least, MX you could... not sure about MX 2004 and beyond.
or...
I definitely do NOT recommend doing this... but I've heard that some people use peer-to-peer clients like Limewire to download programs illegally. Now while this is, as I've mentioned, illegal, I know for a fact that Adobe (owner of macromedia and flash now) do NOT persue HOME users for stealing their software because "... today's pirates are tomrrow's industry professionals. If someone learns on our software, even on 'cracked' versions, they're still customers in the future."
And that's a good policy for someone who wants to do some home Flash-ing. They do still go after businesses improperly using their software, however.
Just a thought.

Let me add to B1TE's idea. Never use programs like Limewire to download programs. Use BitTorrent, it is much safer. (I'm not implying that you do so, just friendly advice to avoid any malware on your computer.)

Hm, thankyou all for your comments. I really don't want to illegally download anything because with my luck it would probably be infested with viruses. I think I'll just have to save up some money, pray to all the gods, and hope that they'll create some kind of cheaper version.

Last time i checked, it's not illegal to lend or borrow stuff so you can ask someone who has it.
That's what i did.

Do a search for unFREEz. It's a very simple, easy to use, and virus free bit of software. I made my avitar with it.

I don't really know what you are looking for, but you could check out monkey jam: http://www.giantscreamingrobotmonkeys.com/monkeyjam/
it's free, EXTREMELY simple, and although it's mostly used for pencil tests, you can import images into it in plenty of formats...
It depends on what you want to do with it, if you just want to experiment with animation it's really usefull, because you have to learn almost no software, and can just use a scanner...
