This is a 'challenge' or a game of sorts, but it's not a competition. If this is in the wrong part of the forum, please move it, but this seemed like a good place.
So, the gist:
Draw something in a different comic book style from your usual. So, if you normally draw manga, then try drawing something in the style of American superhero comics, or newspaper funny or cartoon gag strip, or old-skool detective/ action comics, or in a more specific different style, like that of tintin or Asterix or Scott Pilgrim? Same goes for whatever style you normally draw in. Pick a different style and draw something in that style, then show us what you did!
You can draw either a character from your own comic in a different style, or a character from your chosen style in another style (ie. Draw manga superman or Goku in the style of 'The Beano' comics) or you can draw a character from a style different from yours (ie. if you draw a cartoon gag strip, draw Sailor Moon or Nick Fury or something like that). You can draw a single image or even, if you like, a comic page or montage!
...Oh, and you can do as many as you like.
Why? Well, this is great art training for a start. You'd be surprised what you can learn by breaking out of your usual drawing style. Also, I hope this might help build your respect for other styles of comics. You might be surprised, maybe if you think drawing in a style will be cake walk, you'll find it's harder than you thought, or maybe if you think 'I could never draw like that!' you'll discover you're capable of more than you thought!
Simple rules:
1. Keep the artwork PG13. This game is for everybody. No excuses like 'I'm drawing in a hentai style!'. No.
2. No whining about how much you hate comics. That's lame.
3. Try to make a serious attempt to draw in that style. Don't just stick huge boobs on your character and say 'lol, now it's manga!!11one!'. Any idiot can make a poor parody, and showing you can draw in a different style is much more impressive than laughing at it.
4. Post links. Not direct images. Otherwise the thread might get reaaaaallly slow.
5. The obligatory...HAVE FUN!
So to get the ball rolling, here's me, usually a manga artist, drawing Ultimate Wolverine!

This was fun to do. Anatomy is a lot less forgiving when you're drawing in this style. You really have to think about the muscles and bone structure. The hair and eyes were easier to do though, and the deeper face took away having to worry about the angle of the far eye. Also, being able to us lots of dark shade is always good. That's the first time I've ever drawn a nose like that, hahahaha! I think I'd like to experiment more in this style.
Okay, guys and gals, over to you!
going away - Art & Literature Corner
And now draw something completely different!

Don't we already have the 'Draw Your Characters In A Different Style' thread?
Eh, while I'm here, I may as well post some things I've already done...
http://www.drunkduck.com/Victory_Theme/index.php?p=200269
My attempt at drawing myself in the styles of Krahulik, Ramsoomair, Lesnick, and McConville. The Machall panel was paricularly difficult, because I had no references (the Machall archives were down at the time.).
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/57290191/
This was my (admittedly poor) attempt at drawing in the vein of Golden Age superhero comics. It was hard, because references that were actually large enough to analyze were few and far between. And you're right, anatomy is a lot less forgiving in this type of style.

This is how I usually draw (sort of manga-y but my own):

I drew this for that 'Draw Your Characters In A Different Style' thread:
http://s137.photobucket.com/albums/q229/satomiwako/loveis.gif
And I drew this just a few minutes ago (it was really difficult):

Okay, I know I draw a sorta manga influence, but I don't do "chibi" and I don't do digital, so I tried both:

more people should give this a try. I'd like to see some peoples takes on different styles.

I did a guest piece for Sour Citrus Pin-ups that was in someone else's style. Guy goes by "King Cheetah" and I'm not going to link to his DA site because his art is usually "adult themed." I'd say I had mixed results, there are still somethings that I notice that are still very much me that I need to work on getting rid of. For coloring on this one I tried to mimick some of the art for the Hed Kandi music label, although, again, theres some stuff thats very me, like the line work.
I also did this for webcomic Intershadows that I tried to combine an inking style I've been working on with her style of art. Again, theres a couple things about this one that I noticed are still very much me (like her knees), but for a first effort to mimick her style I think it's ok.
Plus while my current style is only really posted on the first few comics of Children At Play, I draw Modern Day Witchdoctor in a totally different way.

@ Marine:
I always had the impression that you can't draw anything, period. I think I saw some of your EARLY drunkduck stuff and then never looked back. But it seems you can draw; you have a sense of perspective and anatomy, even though those particular drawings are rough and the clothing folds are completely neglected.

I love drawing in different styles. I find it very refreshing!
I usually draw manga, but I drew this when I was in the mood to try and draw in a more realistic style. However, I left some guidelines on her(his?) face...but don't worry, there's only one.

I have yet to figure out if this is a boy or a girl. It looks more like a girl so...I'll just go with that for now.
