By now, most of you have probably at least seen some pics of the new Witchblade anime series, or probably downloaded the first few episodes fansubbed. But that's not the only American comic to be made into an anime production. There are several titles set out to released in the States as their own anime feature for next year, including

The TMNT animated movie is being produced by a Japanese animation studio.
Look, if that was the determining factor, then FAirly OddParents is Korean. It's a movie produced by an American company for American audiences written by Americans with an American cast (well, except Splinter. He's being played by a Japanese guy).
Of course, there has been a Ninja Turtles anime , so if you'd like to lump that in with everything else, feel free. The new movie, though, is as American as anything else that gets animated in another country.

Anyway, back to the topic of discussion, I really don't have any particular problem with American franchises being licensed out to Japanese creative teams. As someone who was never too impressed with the Witchblade comics, I can say that I enjoyed the Witchblade anime a bit more (what little of it I saw, anyway). Hell, if anything gets license out for animation it often gets a completely new crew writing, directing, etc.. This basically just means that the new crew happens to live in a different part of the world and has different social standards.

Wow, so Japan finally ran out of ideas. Problem with these shows is that they'll be choc full of anime cliches to make Japanese audiences friendly with them.

So being a fan of the origional power puff girls cartoon i watched that, it wasn't anything like as good as the cartoon. that was funny, and mojo jojo would constantly reiterate everything and have a devious plan that made absoloutley no sense.
this is just like a load of crap where nothing happens, I swear the only reason this exists is to provide wanking material for loli fans.

don't really think the studio that's producing it should really determine if its anime or not.
Particularly when the studio has contracts all over the place. They also worked on the French animation Zentrix and the American show Father of the Pride. They have done some animation for Japanese franchises as well, but they specialize in CG. Even the Highlander anime that they're producing is being animated by Madhouse, they're just handling the CG effects.
Wow, so Japan finally ran out of ideas.
Hardly. Anime versions of Western stories and comics aren't exactly new. Also take into account that most anime made from Western franchises are paid for by the Western companies which originally created those franchises. If anything, it's the American companies which are running out of ideas and look to the Japanese to breath new life into their franchises.
With the exception of Demashita Powerpuff Girls Z, all of those shows are made either with a global or American audience in mind. Cartoon Network is just appealing to a potential overseas market and as far as I know, their show isn't being brought over here.

I realize that most people doesn't like the anime PPG because they were usually fans of the original PPG. This PPG anime seems to fit quite well to the Japanese market mainly because Japanese people don't see this anime as replacing the originals, but borrowing ideas and concept to create something that appeals more to their mindset and culture than the American culture.
The Japanese manga and anime itself, for decades, has been bombarded with all kinds of new creations (creations either from fans and from professionals) based on the old creations. A good example would be the anime "Astroboy" or "Gundam". There are several other versions of "Astroboy" and "Gundam" that doesn't stick to the original classics. Even the original storylines in many mangas get altered in the anime. So, re-introducing non-originals based on the originals has become a common practice in Japan.

That's a coincidence. I was just watching the episode of Justice League with Amazo in it. Weird. I'll give Bleedman props for incorporating so much into his comics, but sometimes it gets ridiculous.

Although, the JLU series never said what happened to Amazo after he left Earth from Grundy's resurrection.
