Okay so I stumbled on this contest in my local paper...sounded like a good idea being that I have about 7-12 stories complete and ready for publishing (Well mostly). So I entered my Novel "Starting Over" (You guys may recognize it, one of the characters is in Plague). I found out today, two and a half weeks late mind you, that I have made it through the first round of cuts (5000 to 1000).
EEEEE!! I'm so excited I had to share. That is a huge step for me...HUGE! I've self-published, but winning this contract would mean a publishing deal with Penguin!
The next round of cuts is going to be on 15 January, and then the reader reviews can start...
IF I make it that far I invite you all to stop over and read excerps of mine, and of course the other contestants, and give your review!! I will let you know as I find information out.
