For those of you who haven't heard of her, let me introduce you to one of my favorite musicians, and possibly the coolest chick on Earth:
And this is just some of her recent work.

Some of her past work as half of the punk-cabaret duo The Dresden Dolls:

Good to know she's still doing music, do you know if Brian as also started something else on his own?

From what I've heard, he did some drumming on Ghosts for Nine Inch Nails, followed by...nothing else of any note.

I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you over the sound of Amanda Palmer's coolness.
That's right.
That's right.

The "Oasis" video, which sparked a bit of controversy a while back (and not because she didn't shave her armpits):
And her response to said controversy

I had never heard of her before Neil Gaiman announced they were dating, and now I can't stop hearing about her. She seems like an all-right person and all, it just makes me wonder how many people know of her as 'neil gaiman's girlfriend' than 'amanda palmer, musician' :]

I couldn't believe it when the two of them got together. I was already a fan of them both, so it was like my worlds were coming together. :spin:

I live in the Boston area, so I'm already familiar with her. There was a period where you couldn't turn on the radio without hearing "Coin Operated Boy" until one's ears began to bleed.
I liked Yes, Virginia quite a bit, but I was relieved to find that Who Killed Amanda Palmer was a decent album as well.
Still hoping for a Dresden Dolls reunion though.

Strangely enough, I like WKAP the least. And it's such a shame she didn't put Night At The Roses on that album! That being said, the woman's a genius. And she proved it with the whole Evelyn Evelyn project. Everything's great about it: the concept, the lyrics, the music.
And how come I didn't know she and Gaiman were dating! The man's a genius, too, btw. Love his work ever since I read "Good Omens" some twelve years ago. Oddly enough, I didn't read "American Gods" until just last week :)

So now she's doing a sold-out production of Cabaret
And has co-written a graphic novel based on the Evelyn Evelyn album
And someone has published a book investigating her fake death
And she's planning on doing another album next year.
Afterwards I assume she'll destroy Superman and open Fight Clubs all across the country.

she's pretty awesome, but her solo album was a bit lacking compared to her work with Brian. The Dresden Dolls need to put out more music. Supposedly, they're on tour again starting soonish?
