Me, I like playing cards. Nothing better than a good game of rummy. Just don't try strip rummy, it doesn't work that well. Gets rather complicated and takes all night. XD
I did get hooked on Mahjong flash games for a while, but I don't own a real set. I'd like to.
I also enjoy chess, but I'm not very good at it.
Currently rewriting Pictures from the start - and it is now called In Carnate.

We used to build majong castles and majong dominos. THAT was fun. I also liked studying all the pretty patterns.

While there is always some form of probability involved, certain games do involve some skill. Gin Rummy for example does require some skill to determine what cards your opponent holds so that you can either avoid throwing out the needed card or figuring out the right time to knock.

As for Mahjong, I've only played the solitaire games which I do enjoy.

I love Mahjong. I don't like getting through half of the puzzle, taking 35 minutes, only to realize I have to do it over because I picked the wrong ones. DAMNIT. *knocks over computer*

I love Mahjong. It is very soothing and fun, no stressful time limits. :)

I get together with friends every now and then to play Japanese style Mahjong. I picked up a tile set from the local Asian market and we all taught ourselves how to play. There is actually a lot of skill involved in Mahjong since it all boils down to counting tiles and making the right decisions to avoid losing too many points or to score as high as you can off of your hand.

I tend to dislike the solitaire Mahjong. This is mostly because it is entirely possible to have games which are unwinnable (like one round I played where all three of the matching tiles for the top tile were buried under it).

I like Solitaire Mahjong-- but then, the game I'm using to play it is Freeverse's Burning Monkey Mahjong, and having wisecracking monkeys sitting around, watching and heckling you, is guaranteed to make anything fun.
