I'd rather look at squid than eat them. THAT scares me :P
They're not that strange, when you consider that you're related to them. ;)
-living things on Earth share DNA and as an animal species they're a lot closer to us than plants and even other animal species like insects.

You're very distantly related to cephalopods. You're a vertebrate so your evoltionary path diverged from a squid hundreds of millions of years ago. (Richard Dawkins' The Ancestor's Tale is a great beginning.)
But cephalopods are so cool, why do you think tentacle sex is so prevelent in Manga and Anime and Great Cthulhu has tentacles?

I remembered when they first recorded them. They weren't sure if they were new types of squids or new types of jelly fish...I still don't know what the ruling on it was.
