What's Marvel up to now?

Do you think this will be Banner or someone else?

I believe on one of the Incredible Hulk DVDs released around the time when Ang Lee's HULK was making it's theatrical run, Stan Lee mentioned in a interview extra that one of the producers of the Bixby/Ferrigno Incredible Hulk tv show said that the Hulk should really turn red, and not green. Which Lee found interesting, but would deviate too much from the comic book version. So the idea got nixed, as well as the original actor playing The Hulk (the Jaws guy from the James Bond flicks) after one of the producers son got a good look.
"To a rational mind, nothing is inexplicable. Only unexplained."

Doesn't really matter. They'll just have magic erase it, & all the continuity associated with it if they don't like it.

Wait, didn't Marvel vs Capcom 2 have a red hulk?

That thing sucked so bad, Spiderman could kill it by taunting.

No, certainly not wrong. A little odd to bring up in this particular discussion, but not wrong.

Anyway, I'm guessing (or at least hoping) that Red Hulk is another guy entirely. The Hulk already has multiple forms to transform into (Green Hulk, Grey Hulk, "The Professor" (Hulk with Banner's personality), Banner-Hulk (Banner with Hulk's strength), and variations thereof), it'd be a little forced to give him yet another one.

heh :)
Well, she was one of the little characters in the Red Hulk pic SpANG linked to ;)

It's not the muscles so much as the tall sexy woman angle. Plus the aggressive confidence. Me likes.

As to the Red Hulk... Now, if he had green hair he'd look like a gigantic tomato person. But couldn't he be a clone or something?

Red Hulk, meh. He looks like he's about to have an aneurysm and he looks stupid.

This is almost as bad as when they split Superman into Superman Red and Superman Blue, and wow, what a marketing phenomenon that was (basically killed all credibility and interest in the Superman comics for a while)...

Behold....

THE INCREDIBLE TOMATO!

Dr Banner accidentally drank some radioactive ketchup and suffered a terrible reaction :(

I blame GM foods.

Those purple... veins look like some sort of worm. o.O Poor Hulk - I liked him when he was green (not that I read a lot of Hulk-comics). What's wrong with him being green?

Looks less super-powered when red. I mean, we all turn red when we're angry. He's "less special" that way.

Anyone else think his veins are reaching out from his elbows to strangle him?

While I somewhat like the general idea of a big red hulk, he's just not 'The Hulk' to me. I'm not even big on the grey version. Green just seems the real deal.

This one just looks like a microwaved Hulk zombie (and probably not even as interesting as the dead Hulk in Marvel Zombies). I still don't like it.

And next week Bruce Banner makes a deal with Mephisto, and *poof* the red Hulk has never existed, along with 25 years of other continuity just... cuz.

True, but at least there's some logic to Hulk's forms (varying levels of strength and how much control Banner has). There's no "randomly grows two more arms" Hulk.

...

Unless that's what the red one's for...

I think my favorite Hulk was Peter David's 7-foot tall strong as the green hulk with banner's brain and gray hulk's attitude. The original hulk is a close second.

The gray hulk was badly written and not interesting or powerful enough to hold my attention...but mainly, he just had bad lines. Insane Banner-less hulk was a boring killing machine and the skinny Rick Jones hulk was awful.

And then they made this tomato hulk. May be fierce competition for worst...hulk...ever!

A four armed hulk would be scary...cool, maybe...but scary!

I've never read a hulk comic, but if all we have of tomato hulk is his look, how do we know it'll be bad?

It could be worse, at least he's not holding a gun. ;)
