What if there was a daily writer's challenge here?

by that I mean... what if once a week somebody here posted an random challenge when it came to comics on drunk duck, and the characters in them doing certain things?

And then the challenge would be that writers of drunk duck, whenever it be artists who happened to write their own story for their comics, or writers who wrote for other comics...

would get to write an fan fiction based on the challenge and the comic mentioned.

This wouldn't really be an competition, it would be just for fun plus it'd be also be fun for readers out there who got to see who rose up to the challenge. and I'm sure the comic artists who does their own comic would be greatly amused to see how other person would take on their world.

So you mean that someone will pick any random comic, the characters from that comic and just sort of write about them? That sounds a lot like the writing challenges [forthewicked.net] on the No Rest for the Wicked Forum.

All right, basically what they do there is have someone choose two or more characters from the No Rest for the Wicked story, and then choose a word. Someone will have to write a short "fic" about those two characters incorporating that word.

So it'd sort of be like that, except with characters from different comics, correct?

If that's what it's like then you can count me in, it sounds like fun!

This sounds pretty interesting. As you mentioned, people can see how other people can put their own touch on characters, and it'll just be a lot of fun. Plus some may even come out of the woodworks for an interesting time.

Now that would also make a good compilation. Heh.

Buuut, if I ever stop being lazy and even do my own comic, I shall throw my hat in the ring as well.

Do it then Aurora. Post it in the writer's forum here with all the rules and the first comic to be fan fictioned so people can start. I'll make it a sticky and itt'll be my first bit of moderation :smt026
