7 day visits and the stat-o-meter

This is a kinda noobish question, but what is the difference between "visits" and "7 days visits" on the stat-o-meter??? Sorry if this is in the wrong board, I didn't know where to put it

the page views for the last 7 days determine your ranking. so it's probablly your total views verses the views that determine rankings

i have almost full meter on 7 day visits.
