Who has or is doing this this year? It's gret fun and if you can get it done you get a 24 page buffer for your webcomic! Neat!
It rolls around Oct 20th, there are many places all around the world that have events where yau and other creators can handg out together and actually create a comic together! It's swell!
I highly recommend it!
Cheers

i already have a 6 week buffer and it takes me an average of 3 hours to complete 1 comic so i don't think this will be possible for me to do.

Man, it's been way too long since I've done a 24-hour comic, but October is just always bad for me. We'll see. I actually wanted to do one this summer, but ended up not having time.

I've been thinking a lot about trying the 24-hour comic thing but October just isn't the best time for me. If it was scheduled during the summer I may have had a better chance in taking part. I'd also want to take part with other people and I'm not sure if anyone else in Ottawa would be doing it.

I'm entertaining the idea of a 1 day, 1-shot complete comic! Anyone want to team up for it? I have no idea what it would be...lol!
I could do some evening pages (after 8 pm - I could do them during the day and scan and send them in the evening). I also am free to plot/script most times.
(Hoping I don't regret this idea... o_0)

Wow! That is like impossible for me. I can barely keep up with the one week update schedule I got now.

I tried last year and only managed to produce 6 pages.
But I'm going to try again this year! :)

I've always wanted to do this. Where are there more details? I'm a pretty fast artist. Back in the day I used to go to school, work two jobs, and produce a comic page a day. oh my that was horrible (but good horrible)

I'm totally going to try it this year. I'm in college now, and COLLEGE IS A TIME FOR TAKING RISKS.

If I'm not too busy and can find a place hosting it, I may just try it this year ^_^

All the details are here: http://www.24HourComics.com/
You have 24 hours , start to finish, to make a 24 page comic. By yourself. You can do it in a perty, but the comic is a one person deal. There are exceptions, check out the link.
Last year I got 14 pages done in the first 24, I finished the book in later days and that was last months comic here on DD!
It's great fun and good practice!

Tell ya what, how about I do a 72 hour comic?
I'm curious, whats the record on this crap? I'm awake for days as it is so I'm sure I could beat that record.

All of you who are saying you can't pull this off because you're too slow - that's exactly why you should do it! The point is not to draw something that looks refined and polished, nobody can pull that off. The point is the improvisation that having to work that fast inevitably forces you to do, the whole experience of pushing yourself through 24 consecutive hours of drawing. The last six hours are pure horror, but you'll be proud in the end (once you've slept for about 12 hours straight, that is), and you'll have learned a lot about yourself. Do it!

The record was the 168 hour comic set by Ryan Estrada. Good luck topping that ;)
I've done 2 24 hour comics before (and one actually got printed!), and if I have the free time, I'll definitely do another one this year. Luckily the same comic book stores are doing it again this year, so I know how to get there this time!

I really want to do this, but the closest one is 5 hours away from me in the southern part of Indiana. I heard there is one in South Bend (which is about an hour and a half away) and I'm holding out to see if that happens. It'd be great if there was one in Indianapolis.
If a closer one emerges for me... I definately want to do it.

Hmm... Sounds interesting. The thought of creating a 100-panel LAMFAO makes my 1 GB RAM computer cry, but damn if that doesn't sound fun/ torturous. It'll be a plus if I can work from home.
It's a comic!

I'm offering up my livingroom & bedroom/studio to my friends this year, so we can churn out some caffiene-induced 24-hour insanity. I never participated while I was still at SVA -- (working for 24 hours in a room filled with people I mostly didn't care for...NAAAH.)
Surrounding myself with friends? Fricking awesome. (Provided some of them decide to work and not goof off.)
And no, I'm not sure if I'll actually finish mine either. I work notoriously slow.
But, it will be fun to challenge myself. :)

Did he take breaks or what?
I could do it. In fact, I could do TWO pages an hour for 169 hours.
