Last year I was the link between the panelists. I would have to send everything twice. It was pretty annoying :P

Signing up to the forum is the only down side. But once it's time for judging I'll try and make it as painless as possible. No strong captcha to type in. No email activations. Sign in and post who you are and what category you are judging in. Meaning bots will get in at that time but me and Amanda can/will deal with them. And they can only post in 1 board anyway. Obviously bots can't access the private judging boards.

Me and Amanda can split up the work to contact ppl and verify that they will be signing up. I don't think it's much to ask and is a lot more convenient and will make judges less likely to "say" they didn't read comics like last year.

Last year the ones I judged on we used off site email more than PQ's. In order to insure security I would vote for PQ's or email.

New panelists, I've got you on my list - thank you so much!
For new presenter volunteers, I have you on an alternate list.

Everyone who has signed up for volunteer duty will be PQed with details as soon as the finalists in each category have been determined (should be no later than August 4).

We're still in need of PANELISTS, so please sign up for one or two or seven! =D

I'm kinda with Nergal on the whole panelist setup thing... if you're gonna have the forum, I'd say to have it mandatory to avoid complication. If you have some panelists PQing and some using the forum, it just seems like it would be hard to keep track of everybody's opinions. It sounds like a good setup to me, with each panel having its own secure forum.

I'm all for the forum, it is convenient and faster. I also agree it should be mandatory, even if the panelists/judges decide to also do email. but they need to at least start at the forum.

amanda: I said before to feel free to sign me up for any and every, except those I've mentioned in my previous post ;)

Each category is already made and when a person registers they simply tell me what panel they judge and I give them the title/access to that section.

Everything has already been made and is ready. No one in a different panel can see categories that they are not judging.

You,sir, are a star!

if you're doing the forum thing i agree with making it mandatory
regrets i've had a few but then again, too few to mention,
i did what i had to do and saw it through without exemption.
I planned each charted course; Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this, I did it my way.

I think it should be forum only and mandatory as well. Like stated before, it would be quite confusing to use a mix of a forum and PQs. A forum would make everything easy to access and centralized.

I talked to Amanda and we'll be using the forum. For those of you that wish to sign in early the link is here.

http://www.justnopoint.com/drunkduck/forum/index.php
At the moment the site has a captcha to type in and email confirmation to make sure the bots don't overrun it while me and Amanda are not using it much.

Once I start letting you guys know what areas you'll be judging I will remove that stuff for convenience. Hooray bots XD but me and Amanda will combat them.

If you want to sign in early you can though. Just don't click any links from bots in the 1 open board that's on there :P Unless you really really REALLLY need some viagra. XD

Do you just click login to sign in? (I signed up for the best website design panel a couple of pages back, I'm not even sure if I was put on the list XD)

Hello! We haven't officially assigned panels yet, but JNP or I will PQ you as soon as we have that list finalized. If you have signed up to be a panelist, you are DEFINITELY a panelist =D

If you requested a specific category, you *probably* got it (unless your comic was a finalist) ^.^

Hey amanda, I was sent a PQ to do a presentation comic--I think that was sent to me by mistake (I had requested to be a panelist/judge)? Just thought I would give someone who wants to do that a chance--I don't want to take up someone's spot, if that makes any sense... lol!

How were all the original nominees chosen, via popular vote?
If it was via popular vote, I guess then that front page "Feature" was a call for DD readers (who aren't active in the forums) to vote?

FIGHT current chapter: Filling In The Gaps
FIGHT_2 current chapter: Light Years of Gold

Dragon, are you still having issues accessing the forums?

And Mlai, yes - the finalists were chosen by popular vote and the pseudo-feature served exactly that purpose! =D
