The 17-year-old stunned cops by owning up to a serial killing spree that started when she was 15.

She told detectives she wanted to confess before she turned 18 and could be tried as an adult.

The girl – who can't be named because she is still a minor – said she began targeting men in her home city of Sao Paulo, Brazil "for money, revenge and to bring justice."

She even smiled as she reeled off her list of victims - which is feared to make her the world's most prolific teenage serial killer. She calmly bragged to police: "I don't have enough courage to hold a gun — but I can hold a knife.

So apparently in Brazil, anyone under the age of 18- for any crime no matter how huge- can only be jailed for 4 years and afterward receives a clean slate on their record. :/ Wow.

If true I think they need to change this policy and wipe that shit-eating cockiness off her face. -_-

I think sometimes what also happens is that drug gangs will pay people to admit to crimes so that those cases get closed and they don't have to worry about them any longer.

It's possible she's just making money of a drug gang here.

I never thought of that possibility, but it makes a lot of sense.

One way or another, I'd have to agree with Skull. That sounds like a statute that needs a bit of amending.

Though, I guess if she's not guilty and just copping to it for a gang to get cash, they ought to be able to prove that she's not the real culprit through evidence. If they even bother investigating it when they have a confession.

Isn't it in Brazil where a guy can be acquitted of rape if he proposes to marry the victim? Heard that somewhere. I know they've got a pretty weird legal code there. Like, if you murder your wife and convince the judge that she provoked you to do it, you'll only have to serve 18 months in an "open" prison. So definitely move to Brazil if you plan on killing your wife.

There's the thing. Why bother? I know it sounds bad but that's how a lot of police forces actually work. Even in a first world country like Japan- they have an open widespread culture of that sort of practise, in rural areas. -ie. decide someone is guilty and hound then till they get a confession and then jail them, don't bother with real police work.


Besides, if the police chief is in the pay of the gang too, as they often are in Brazil, why would they investigate?

You know if you went to Venezuala, they wouldn't extradite you. I mean, you'd probably have to do the "killings" here and then go there but yeah.
