In Zelda games, I cut every piece of grass before I leave an area. Only to realize that the grass magically grows back when I return.
I pick up hearts and potions and arrows and other stuff even if my stock is full, just because I hate the feeling of needing them when I don't have them.
I also try to go through dungeons in any game using the lowest level or weakest weapon, just to see a different gameplay style.
In GTA, I like activate the cheat that automatically gives you a 6-star warning, just to see how long I can survive.
One more thing I think every creative gamer has done, in open environment games, I try to complete missions in unorthodox or otherwise bizzare ways. I try to find a loop hole, trying to think up an example now... If the level requires you to use a special item to get to a location, I try to see if there is any other way to get there. (Deku leaf instead of grappling hook, flip a car onto another car and jump on top of the 'tower', the list goes on)

When I do something really hard like beat a boss or something I'll usually do an air punch or flick off the TV :P
