Are there any video game characters in any game you've played that you've had a strong dislike to extreme hatred for whose death scene you savored? Did you savor the moment more when YOU were the cause of that person's death?
My personal favorite was Deputy Director Shimada (Star Ocean 4). That fat guy used a hero's rep to boost his own rank and he belittles everyone who serves under him while he wines and dines like a very rich guy. No, you don't get to fight him and end his existence. Rather, he gets fried (literally) by a dragon-like being along with his groupies and the moonbase he was on (there are Youtube clips on this, but I don't feel like linking them at the moment). I do feel sorry about everyone else who was on the base at the time (well, at least as much as I could feel sorry for since they don't really exist) but seeing him go out like that brought an eerie smile to my face. In fact, it scares me. O_O
Let's hope this thread doesn't bring out the sick minded people who would've wanted a chance to torture the poor soul before it was forced to pass on...
"The only moral it is possible to draw from this story is that one should never throw the letter Q into a privet bush, but unfortunately there are times when it is unavoidable."
-Douglas Adams, The Restaurant At the End of the Universe
Natalya and Johnathon (Goldeneye and Perfect Dark)
Pretty much the only two FPS' I've played, so I'm guessing annoying characters is a running theme in FPS'.
Also running people off the road in Mario Kart is brilliant, especially when you run bowser off when you're playing as baby Daisy. Sure, they don't die, so it doesn't count really...But no one would actually survive falling off a rainbow and in to space
"therealtj" Said:
Slippy.
Falco too.
"NICE JOB FOX. JEEZ, WHY DON'T YOU HELP ME OUT HERE. WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON FOX?"
But mostly Slippy...

ALWAYS WATCHING.
What's your favourite type of signature?
Mine's chocolate! Mmm...Ha ha ha!
Is this one of those threads where someone's going to start complaining about spoiler warnings after like 20 posts?
Wrex in Mass Effect. For some reason I'm still not at all clear on, they knew how to push my buttons with his grumpy whining about his race, and the second he started pushing for the team to place the survival of his people over that of the whole fucking galaxy, I knew he had to go down.
I didn't know Shepard was going to do it with a shotgun, though.
One of the best conversation trees in any game, ever.

I spared him. However, as for the death of a character I enjoyed experiencing? The guy in the locker in Knights of the Old Republic. I'm not coming out of this locker! (three attempts later) Fine. PSZHOOM!
In my day, video games gave you three chances to kill about 2000 enemies in one sitting with no pause button. Easy mode meant you got two more lives to throw away on the first boss. You don't know the meaning of hard.
Hours into Final Fantasy 7 I simply got sick of the game, its tired JRPG conventions, and its oppressively emo overtones. But I continued onward, and when I finally got to the part where Aeris was killed I felt satisfied enough to quit. It would have been even better if that rotten turd Yuffie was standing immediately in front of Aeris when the blade went through.
I forget his name, but that asshole general you fight at the end of Fallout 3 was very satisfying to shoot in the head. Not that he was any more of a jerk than anyone else in the game, but he's one of the few plot-important characters that you run into a few times and the game pointedly doesn't allow you to kill (even though I was more than capable of beating him senseless every time). Made that moment of realization that, gee, the plot's gonna let me actually do what I've been able to do all this time all the sweeter.
In the same game, I also got some odd pleasure from realizing I could kill Three Dog (I assumed that, like many plot-important characters, he would just pass out).
Norton Mapes from F.E.A.R. After running around for the second half of the game once he starts trying to sabotage all your efforts to just survive, I got a strange satisfaction watching the fatass get shot by Harlan Wade near the end of the game.
And Shub-Niggurath in the original Quake, mainly because of how many times it took for me to clear out the entire stage of regular baddies, then the number of times it took for me to figure out how to finally kill it.
"That is not dead can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons death may die."
~H.P. Lovecraft
Oh yeah! Yuri Gregerov from the first Syphon Filter. Was he supposed to die? No. But he was so frustrating I would literally kill him a dozen times in a row just because.

Super Zur in Guardian Heroes. Although they did kind of design his character to be really annoying. I just wish you had the opportunity to kill him from any path in the game instead of him just being one of five possible end bosses.
the major dude from xenosaga 1(The one who is additeced to the tissuse's) i was kinda anger though becuase he saved shion(Sure he was a jerk to the robot people but still he had his reasons)
Cherankov from Xenosaga 1 (He was a manic back stabber)
Strung from Armored core 2 (another back stabber)
man i could go on forever like this but i forgot alot of em
From the shadows of darkness i call upon weapons it destory you all
Anything with Sephiroth getting omnislashed to death is fine with me.
And that Seymour guy from FFX... well, he was asking for it too.
Agreed. That guy was asking for it all game and what better way to finish him than to Omnislash his face to oblivion! Well done Square Enix...Well done!
I really disliked the Boss from Metal Gear Solid 3. The games attempt to make her a complicated and sympathetic character had no effect on me and I enjoyed first beating the hell out of her in the boss fight and then turning her into a foutain or red with a shotgun. The fact that they had a dramatic pause only gave me time to savor the moment.

I liked Wrex, so I paragoned my way into an ending where I didn't kill him. Personally I wish I could've put a bullet into Sovereign's head though... if it had one.
Found a Mass Effect wiki and it mentioned several new characters for Mass Effect 2. I don't know if Wrex will be a squadmate (probably not it looks like) but you get an even more vicious Krogan as a new squadmate (assuming you can convince him to join you of course).
