I was thinking, are we going to be doing any sort of "chapter breaks" for Heroes Alliance? Because with HU Adventures ending (for now), we could use that story format for the "chapter breaks". Alternatively, we could use that Origin Story idea posted earlier.
So, what do the others think about this?
Personally, I could envision both short chapter breaks to integrate some short off-beat stories (in the HU Adventures vein), as well as origin stories.
We should definitely use the HU Adventures format: Up to 4 pages (and an optional cover page).
The only difference between these and the HUA would be that there will have to be some sort of editorial control by the creators, since these have to mesh well with the "bigger" HA chapters. So, anyone who'd like to do these would have to get them approved (but you know me, I'm not likely to turn anything down :P).
**********************EDIT**********************
Origin Stories: (Note: this list is tentative until the respective character's creators approve! Also, you can always suggest more characters, they only need to be featured in either an HU or an HA story. Click here for a list of characters which had appeared on HU up until FURY.)
Azumorph (written by Azumorph and drawn by Wes_Nero123)
Comet Kid (written by Hero, drawn by mind_reader)
Peligroso (written by sux, drawn by ?)
Relik (?)
The Impractical Mr Imp (?)
Shell (?)
Vora (?)
Virtus (?)
Archangel (I'm planning on appearances by him in the pages of HA)
etc. Ruled out:
Titan
Bombshell (at least not before Bombshell #2 has been completed)
"HA Adventures":
Possibly one or two or three by Hero.
mind_reader: Sorry, Bombshell's origin is off-limits until I have completed issue #2 of her own comic. Anything else would be a major spoiler! :P But thanks for the offer... and sorry for being so slow on the Bombshell comic ^^;
I'll edit my first post above and add a list of characters we'd need origin stories for.
Ok. I'm cool with an origin story for Comet Kid, which I should very much like to write. If anyone is interested in drawing it, that's fine. If not I shall myself.
Also, I was already drawing a short offbeat story to no particular end about my previously submitted-into-HU characters, Bombshell and time release explosive capsules whilst I was drawing my pages. When everything is scanned you can have a look and see if you want to use it as a "HU Adventures" chapter break. I also have this idea for 2 HU Adventures that I procrastinated on before the project got shutdown that I could maybe whip up.
I think some of these chapter breaks could be used to develop dynamics between some of the characters on the team. Like Azumorph and Imp. They're both shape-shifters on the same team, I think once Imp makes an appearance in a story there needs to be some conflict between them in a chapter break.
Read the Impractical Mr. IMP!:

I agree completely. One of the first things we should sort out is how Azumorph and Imp bring different strengths to the team. I didn't include Imp in the pilot because the tight storyline would have made explaining why we need to have two shape-shifters tough. So I think we should address this either in a chapter break between 2 and 3 or in chapter 3 itself.
Also, generally: I think we should have some team-ups with only two or three characters in the same story. Other characters might show up too, but shouldn't take the spotlight away, so we can really concentrate on the relationships between our main two or three characters. These can be chapter breaks as well. But they needn't be! Anything that exceeds the 4-page-limit will count as a complete chapter, even if it's only a short story. I'd like to have a healthy diet of shorter chapters focusing on character-development, and longer blockbuster-event type of chapters. And these shorter chapters can still be handled like HUA - meaning, someone can just go ahead and do one without major editorial control, or rotating artists. (Again: These would still need to be approved though.)
I too am all for an Azu-Imp team up, to compare and contrast their powers as well as their personalities.
Some power differences I've so far noticed are that Imp can change into forms that have complex internal workings, such as things with wheels and motors, while Azu cannot do anything like that (can't even form a pair of working wheels on himself). Imp also appears to have the ability to change colour, while Azu cannot.
Personality wise Azu is a more clever and levelheaded character, while Imp is one of those "Fun Personified" characters.
Hey, abt, I've still got that Heroes Unite Adventures thing over on my deviantart, i'd appreciate it if this went on here, as it was based for that personally. Thanks. If it ever come to me, I may do another....we'll see.
My origin chapter break story is completed, I decided not to show too much of his past just yet, but I think what I got is pretty good, the next bits will be revealed at a later date
ironhand: We'll need to see when posting your story would make sense. Somewhere between chapters 3 and the middle of season 1, I'd say... we need to sort out the exact relation between HU and HA first.
