I'm really surprised there's not a topic here already about it!
This Saturday, October 3rd, 2009, is 24 Hour Comic Day.
For those who don't know, I'll just explain it real general like...
24 Hour Comic Day is a day where comic book artists (mostly amateurs, some pros) all get together and draw a 24 page comic book. Within the 24 hours, they script, draw, 24 pages of an original comic book. Now you don't have to necessarily be with any group of people during the 24 hours, it just kinda makes it for a funner night.
Some places have set-ups where you can eat, drink, go to the bathroom, and all that, while you chill with other people and draw.
I'm curious to see who here from Drunkduck is participating.
If anyone's interested, we could start up some sort of AIM chat to where we could keep in touch, and see how it's going.
I keep considering entering, but I don't think I'm good enough an artist to crank out pages that fast. Hell, I'm not good enough to crank out pages at all.
Hey buddy, you should be a Russian Cosmonaut, and here's why.
im working today, so i did mine on thursday. got 19 pages and a cover done in 13 hours before i passed out.
"Kung Fu Komix IS...hardcore martial art action all the way. 8/10" -Harkovast
"Kung Fu Komix is that rare comic that is made with heart and love of the medium, and it delivers" -Zenstrive
"Kung Fu Komix is...so awesome" -threeeyeswurm
"Kung Fu Komix is..told with all the stupid exuberance of the genre it parodies" -The Real Macabre
My school had a bunch of people doing it, they all just holed up in a room for the whole 24 hours and drew stuff. I didn't know about it until it was over, but I probably wouldn't have done it. I likes my sleep. I also likes my Rock Band. I don't likes my homework, but that had to be done too.
I wish we had a group doing the challenge again. I have a nice script just waiting. As it happens, Robot Wars started out as a 24/24 challenge comic, which I completed in 21:45 hrs complete with the cover as it is. Like to do it again sometime...
I too participated, but since i was making a collab with another artist, and i also worked in doing their script; my comic turned out awful, i just uploaded it if anyway wants to see how time gradually breaks up an artist's will, and quality.
last year i gave up at page 18, it was 8:00 AM ...
This year i finished at 7:00 AM, but i started to work on my comic at 3:00 Pm
