"On 6 March 2009, The Hollywood Reporter reported Chris Rock, Tracy Morgan, and Martin Lawrence were set to star in an African Americanized remake of the film(Death at a Funeral) directed by Neil LaBute. The publication later announced Kevin Hart and Zoë Saldaña had joined the project, while the website Filmstalker.co.uk lists James Marsden, Danny Glover, Regina Hall, Loretta Devine, and Ron Glass among the cast members. Peter Dinklage will also return to portray the role of Peter, the same one he had in the original."
I'm speechless. Remake Halloween, okay. Remake Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Nightmare on Elm Street, My Bloody Valentine and The House on Sorority Row, okay. Start the production of Scream 4, fine. Remake Clash of the Titans, possibly awesome. But come on. Are we really going to remake an English-Language movie just 3 years after the original came out? Really, Hollywood?

DO YOU SEE WHERE I'M COMIN' FROM, YOU JIVE MOTHAFUCKAAAA-AAAAAAAAA!?
"isukun" Said: English or not, it's still a foreign film.
Even back in the 30's that rationale was corrupt. Idiocy like this (not you isukun) reduces the long term revenue of British cinema. The world is not as parochial and insular as it once was, but this sort of thing imagines that it is and tries to force it to be that way.
I don't particularly agree with it, either. That's why I tend to buy originals on DVD and not the Hollywood remakes, especially if it means reading subtitles.
