I read a Ms. Tree story in an anthology a while back and for some reason it just reoccurred to me how awesome it was. I've only read that one piece but it was crazy good sequential story telling and featured a really strong, unconventional female lead. It seemed way ahead of it's time.
I figure there must be a collected edition but apparently none have been published since the 1980s.
Has anyone out there read much Ms. Tree? It weird to me that it seems under the radar.
I actually have a set of Ms. Tree. It was published by a small independent back in the 80's. It truly is a great story and heroine--but really hard to come by. My set is far from complete, but I am glad I have the ones I do.
I picked up a couple of issues at the time. I liked how it used B&W and variations of one color. I liked how the characters grew up and evolved. They reminded me of Andrew Vachess books, in that they didn't sugar coat the stories, the storyline when her son was kidnapped, was shocking for the time.
