Indy's Travels

Indy's father left he and his mother several years ago. On Indy's 16th birthday, he decides that for his birthday, he wants to go look for his father. He learns that his father was a hero of sorts, protecting Magi, symbols of power, from falling into the hands of those who would use them for evil gains.. What ties do Magi have with he and his father?
