In this community, I know its possible for people to know what on earth happened to certain people or certain titles on here.
That said, I hope this topic is in the right place - But I was thinking while looking in the TOP TEN - Does anyone know what happened to TWO titles and their creators:
Purgatory Tower?
-AND-
There was a comic that repulsed everyone - Was in the Top 10 for a hot second then just disappeared. This kid's material was usually about video games or Jack Thompson.
Please feel free to keep this going if a thread like this doesn't exist. I just thought I'd start with at least two people I've been wondering about lately. Would to think a creator passed away.
I wonder about Lynn and Mike Allen from time to time. They created "Marital Bliss" and a naughty adult limericks comic. Plus a couple other projects that never got off the ground. -- Lynn was so supportive and encouraging to me way back in the beginning. Sigh.
Let's see...
Panda Panda
That was cute. Too bad it vanished.
My comics are about knives, rats, and rats with knives.

Sounds like Power-up Comics. >.>
I miss the short lived Sigmund the Priest by zero kury. It didn't last long but it made me chuckle a bit. It went away briefly, came back, and then was completely gone around last June.

Thought for the week:
If I'm bored out of my mind, is that akin to an out of body experience?
I miss the Naked Nurse. i know it has a website, but i miss it on drunkduck.
"Kung Fu Komix IS...hardcore martial art action all the way. 8/10" -Harkovast
"Kung Fu Komix is that rare comic that is made with heart and love of the medium, and it delivers" -Zenstrive
"Kung Fu Komix is...so awesome" -threeeyeswurm
"Kung Fu Komix is..told with all the stupid exuberance of the genre it parodies" -The Real Macabre
I faved A View of Venus, mourned when it dissappeared, re-faved it when it was re-posted and was kinda sad when it died again.
Some comics just love to play with people's hearts, apparently.
And I have to second (or is that third?) Amanda and Bintmaker's lament for Purgatory Tower. It simply sucks that it got axed, especially being so close to the ending.
I got a lot of them sitting in my faves, with me just WAITING and HOPING they'll update again!
The Blue Kotatsu: Adorable chibi romance comedy. I looooved it. And it hasn't updated in years T_T
The Wild Hunt: An awesome comic about the dogs of the Wild Hunt. It got a few pages in on the first DD site, but when that crashed it came back again with a restarted storyline....then ended at page 5 never to update again T_T
Hatpire: Work got in the way of the artist, so it hasn't updated in months now!
Sheeps: Hasn't updated since around Christmas, not sure why but I'll suspect the same reasons as anyone else: work!
As to the others mentioned" Purgatory Tower's Silentkitty has been really busy with her job and other things, and seeing how much work she put into her pages it's understandable that she wouldn't have time for it! I miss it terribly though, it's one of those comics that I feel should be at the top of the top 10. Above mine of course!
usedbooks: You're right, I haven't seen MaritalBliss in a long while! I hope they're doing alright! I too often find myself wondering about the people that were kind and encouraging to me when my comic was starting out...
PU Comics: Quite frankly it's a good thing the "community" here is ignoring it, it's by design a troll comic. The TABB forums (Truth and Beauty Bombs) is where you'll find the thread for people involved with it, and it's pretty much a volunteer thing, with a cut/paste character template provided. I can totally get behind a group making a bad webcomic for satire, what I can't get behind is using it to flame other comics to get attention. It got its surge from when it first launched on DD (chosen because they figured our "community" would supply enough drama-fuel to sustain its popularity)
(I recently cleaned out my fav list, so I've lost a few, but these are the ones I kept, since I'm still hoping for updates)
Deus Ex Machina
King Me
(both done by xResalanx who I miss...)
The original Vampire Phantasm (we're still waiting, Sarah)
Thirst of Angels
(Mystic Hand's master piece that, if it kept a regular update scedual, probably would be featured)
Melaines Choles
(another one that would be featured if there was more than 1 update a year. then again...it's been over a year since the last update, silus, I think we're due for another one soon?)
Death's Apprentice
(too bad, really, since I really liked mintyfreshmangos's art)
There are more...but those are the ones for now.

Well, I kind of miss Unchained (though that almost came back for a second there..), I Come from Mars, and The Flea. Also, I of course miss BadBlood...though I'm not really wondering 'where it went'.
SomaX Said: The original Vampire Phantasm (we're still waiting, Sarah)
I miss Gibson Twist's comics Our Time in Eden and Pictures of You.
The storytelling style of both of these was amazing and they were both poignant and beautiful, not to mention well-drawn with excellent panel layouts. I really started missing these comics now that the DD awards is on and I really wanted to nominate these comics for a writing award. Of course they both stopped updating here almost a year ago.
There's also this other comic called Super Smiley Girl that was about a girl in a small town that wanted to be a superhero for the summer and for the most part failed miserably. I remember that she drove around on a (curiously sleek-looking) tractor and had a very cheery-looking super hero costume. As vanished comics go I appreciate that it ended with some closure, it's still a bummer that the comic along with its creator seem to have gone without a trace.
Then of course there's Para-Ten, which was flat-out beautiful! It's not really entirely gone, the creator just said that he wanted to start it over for the sake of thematic consistency or something to that effect. I remain cautiously optimistic but you know.

The really embarrassing thing here is that the thought that we'd supply enough drama fuel turned out to be right for a fairly long time!
Afterworld: Part I: A nice pencil comic that featured some story about dragons. Before it shaped up, it stopped updating. It's a real shame, I wanted to see more.
Orchard Heroes: A cute comic strip about superhero fruit. It hasn't updated in a few good months. Doesn't help that the strip size is pretty massive. But still :[ I should probably check the site for updates instead.
Kerslash: This one's actually pretty popular. Was featured on here and everything, don't know if it still updates here or not. I'll have to check the site.
Many of you are naming some good ones and I hope creators and readers who know the whereabouts of these missing goodies will chime in and let us know - Many like the creators of Panda Panda, View of Venus, and A Murder of Two. Marital Bliss was another comic that chimed in on my title when I started a few years back.
I like looking to see when people last logged on from the Forums sections. I'm guessing many of them come to read comics, but don't chime in much.
I don't know, I just remembered there was a creator on here who was ill and then we just stopped seeing him. UsedBooks makes a point that life often takes us away. You just always wonder how people are doing outside this DD world.
Yeah I miss MaritalBliss, Silent Kitty and Darth Mongoose. Not just their comics, but I miss them from the forums. They all had a lot to say and were entertaining.
But then the list of great people like that going away is massive...

Kerslash went on temporary hiatus, the creator said that he was working on some other comics and animation projects and doing Kerslash was making 'em all late. But I concur, daiconv is ridiculously talented.
I wish One Question and Gunnerkrigg Court were still on Drunk Duck. I still follow them off-site, but there was something nice about having them in the community. And I can't leave comments on One Question anymore thanks to where it has moved to.
I also wish Black Kitty and hpkomic were still hanging around.

What I think is sad is that over half the drama Power Up Comics got was just the creators of the comic logging in to make fun of it. You'd see people in the comments section going off in tirades about how awful it was, then you'd go to their home forum and see those very same people.
I've even had to lock anti-Power-Up threads in the forum made by creators of the comic.
Platonic Love was a pretty emotional shounen-ai that got a huge following and then died (despite the exhortations of its fans).. and how about Rainbow Carousel? Wyldflowa, plz come back...
But the comic I miss most, above and beyond all, in fact, the crowning achievement of anyone in the DD community is The Killer Reaper. Truly, EricElric's masterpiece will be missed.
