It's an older one, Wacom Artpad 2; but it's got intuos levels of resolution although only about 256 levels of pressure.
Basically, my questions are in an attempt to shortcut my own discovery process ... mucho impatience!
In Photoshop I forgot about pressure sensitivity altogether, but I think that's down to how the things' set at default. In Painter, sensitivity was working, but it felt like I was pushing quite hard. I tried ArtRage and couldn't get on with the lack of selection tools although the marker is cool... How does anyone else like to set theirs?
Secondly, tracking. I'm running 2 screens in 1024x768: one to work on and one to hold pallettes and things. Eventually I'll replace the setup with a much bigger and more expensive monitor, but not anytime soon. Does anyone else have experience of running this sort of setup with a 4x5 tablet? It feels a little off and I'm sure it's just down to settings again.
If you go to the Wacom site and make sure you have the most up-to-date drivers, you should be able to adjust sensitivity, screen proportion, etc. from the control panel utility.

To follow up on this, you find the control panel in start->programs->wacom tablet. There's a little setup wizard type of thing there.
