Hey everyone,

I'm just polling people on their opinions on the NY Anime fest, if you've gone or not.
We took the plunge and exhibited on their inaugural year and it was honestly the most dismal con we'd ever done. I don't get it either:
-the con was huge and well attended
-the con was run well (except for some unfortunate table placements for AA) and the staff were really nice
-NY is huge, we expected great numbers and we'd never been there so all our stuff was new.

But across the board, every exhibitor and dealer we talked to, was shocked at how bad it actually went for them. No one was spending any money and people were barely even stopping to look. It was one of the biggest cons we'd ever been to and by far the biggest money looser for us... and NY is so expensive between the flight/hotel/food it was a very disappointing trip (it was also really cold but whatever)

I'm just wondering if people have gone since and seen any improvement. I think it's year 3 or 4 now (this Sept) and it's still running...

I've never been but I plan to go this year...I've heard good things about the con and yes NY is exspensive.
