Not as perverted as it sounds, but just as awesome.
This is a recreation of a playground at the Tate modern museum of art for adults. When it first opened in the 70's it had to be quickly shut down because normally sane adults lost it and went wild on the playground. At it's time it was a massive upset to the art world and people's conceptions of a museum. Now they're bringing it back with a few changes.
I'd enjoy it. But then, to me it wouldn't be about an interactive art instillation project, because that's a little bit retro and passe in a lot of ways, it'd just be about fun.
Everyone likes to play around at one sort of physical activity or another, which is why we have straightjacketd formal things like sports and crap like that, and even less structured sports where you STILL need to get your own special equipment or pay fees to use expensive facilities, or just do something that is really rather stupid and dangerous if you look at it logically- like most rock climbing...
Or you do something banal and not fun at all like exercise or going to a damn gym.
So I think there's a good case for adults to have REAL playgrounds like that and not just a special one where it's acceptable to play around in because it's "art" and you're participating in it. ^___^
wut ? adults aren't allowed to use regular playgrounds ????
You can, but they're not really adult size are they? Unless you're a dwarf... They're not really all that much fun.
I actually can manage on child playgrounds but annoying parents/teachers often come up to me and tell me I'm so heavy that I'll break the equipment.... I find that very rude!
Yeah there is a horrible stigma that adults aren't allowed to play. I think that's why so many people get addicted to gambling. It's really the only accepted form of "play" for adults.
