In all seriousness though, what's the point of this? How about selling some games for it that aren't stupidly frustrating minigame collections?

I'm... pretty sure they did that also. They really only announced one mini-game compilation, that being Wii Sports Resort. Unless you count "Wii Fit Plus" as a minigame compilation. Aside from that they announced two new Mario games and a Metroid game, plus a lot of third party companies have announced non-mini-game Wii titles, such as The Conduit, Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, No More Heroes 2, etc. In fact, as far as I'm aware Wii Sports Resort is the only major minigame compilation announced for the Wii that has gotten anything other than a passing mention in this or any other conference.

...not to mention the black Wii is being bundled with Monster Hunter 3 in Japan.

...with a classic controller pro, as well as other bundles for the game.

And to be honest, why not? The additional marginal cost won't probably be that particularly high, and it's not an uncommon request among owners.

Ok, ok, I was just raging, no need to write a thesis on it.

They did a far better job with new games than they have before. Honestly though, I'm only really excited about the new Metroid and Golden Sun, the rest of it didn't do anything to show me that it wouldn't be hit with the same complaints I had with the other Wii games in the series. And the fact that No More Heroes 2 is apparently going to use the Wii Vitality Sensor just makes me hate that series MORE.



That prompted me to look up things about MH3 and find out that you can play with the classic controller. Which is incredibly good news to me (That I hadn't found out because I stopped paying attention to the game). It's good to know that I'll be able to kill my giant dragons without having to deal with pointless waggle. So I actually plan on getting this game now yay.



Because the color of a console that you're not even going to look at while playing is completely irrelevant? I can understand on a handheld, which has the screen right there on the case while you're playing, but a console is more often than not sitting somewhere out of site. If you're, y'know, looking at the GAME you shouldn't even see it. So why does it matter what color it is?

I guess that's my real complaint. This is stupid and pointless.

Boy Shplane, what a wreck. You started a thread with a 2007 Wii/penis joke, all to complain about how they're releasing it in another color? And followed it up with "Wii onli haz minigames lol rofl." Do you even ask your parents for permission to use the internet?

Variations in consoles is nothing new. You had your choice with Gamecube, there's a silver model of the PS2, PS3 launched with different colors of trim and now has a Final Fantasy Advent Children version, and then there's the Halo-colored Xbox360. It's a common tactic used by all three companies to spur consoles sales. And why shouldn't a person have a choice in colors? When they're not playing it, the consoles sit on a shelf next to other appliances and furniture in their home.

That last game for the Shii is...well, uh...I can actually see that happening.

Um... actually, it's not. Suda51 just mentioned that he (unlike, y'know... sane people) can think of stuff to do with it. He was forced to clarify at one point that he's not actually going to use it in No More Heroes 2; the game already requires the Nunchuk, so there wouldn't be any way to plug in the vitality sensor while the game was going.

My mom actually plays video games besides my brother and I. We don't have an entertainment center that closes, but it's fully visible in the living room. My mom wanted all of our technology in it to remain black so people would hopefully notice it a little less, especially since the black consoles/devices (dvd player, vhs, ps2, gamecube, etc.) and the white wii really make it stand out more because of the contrast.

I dunno, I can see why people might want it in other colors just for the sake of having it feel a little more custom. I'd personally love one in a striking lime green. I'm even considering this pink and grey argyle skin I saw, just cause it would be cute.

They did, but production costs prevented them from going through with it. Then the white one just kept selling, so they never bothered to address it again until recently, when sales of the PS3 started to overpower the Wii in Japan. Actually, I think it was credited to Monster Hunter for the PS3 gaining steam, so it makes sense that their newly announced black wii is bundled with the Wii version.
