San Diego Comic-con used to be my yearly vacation destination...until I moved across the country. Now it's just too expensive to plan a trip there. Which sucks, because I loved going. It's like...a geek mecca. A stinky, loud geek mecca.

To those who are going, I highly recommend the Gaslamp Strip Club. It's a steakhouse where you grill your own steak in a social setting, and awesome Alberto Vargas paintings line the walls.

I'll be there on Thursday and friday for sure and I'm moderating a panel on thursday night.

I'd love to go to these conventions. If only if I didn't live oversees...

I'm not going this year... but I am planning on NEXT year. My friend Michael "MacLPirata" Moreno plans to take a road trip to this year's Comic-Con and secure a table for us in 2010... and my in-laws offered to help pay for a trip there. (I was originally planning to go to Seattle & ECCC, but I picked that one because I thought my wife would come with me and I would take her to the town of Forks to check out where they filmed Twilight.... and she doesn't like flying anywhere.)

I'll be going to San Diego Comic-Con next year! Already got my ticket and everything. No where near professional/organised enough to get a booth though...
I have to kill fast, and bullets too slow!
