I posted a reply to some comments in my comments section... as i usually do, and i made a joke using the words "hair products" and DD turned those words in to one of them link-ads.

That's a bit much if you ask me.

As far as I know, that's NOT a DD thing
And I'm pretty sure I DO know in this case.

That sort of thing can often happen when you have a virus, malware, adware etc on your own comp, so you should do some scans ASAP!!!!

----------------
Edit-
Yep, I've checked out your page and nothing is doing that adlink stuff. You really need to do a scan I'm afraid. Yo gots da net-herpies

It's doing it for me too now! EDIT: Yep, I'm noticing it in some other places too. Great. I swear I didn't have this five minutes ago.
...sure there isn't something else going on here, or are we all getting viruses/adware from something? O___o

this is silly. its not appearing on mastorism. what the hell?

edit:

"hair products"

edit: edit:

???????????

edit: edit: edit:

so i googled ADSDAQ, and see if they have anything fishy with spyware and malware. and no luck. I think it could be a DD thing since it's starting to pop up now.

There's this one case, but it was with somebody and their blog. not their computer.

I dunno. I'm not getting it, so if it is DD it's gotta be something regional.

I don't have the "hair product" computer herpes either. I practice safe surf.

Those were my two cents.

Product Placement you have an ad highlight for herpes. I have a feeling it's a regional thing as my email has it too. In this economy they gotta make money. *grumble* damn capitalists.

They're putting ads everywhere these days. At least it doesn't lead to a porn storm (a term for the opening of one window leading to several others opening then closing that one leading to even more opening in a never ending cascade.)

I can confirm I'm seeing it here on DD and nowhere else as of right now. It'll take either words someone has written on the forum or even the forum descriptions and make a link from it. Ex. Media Discussion's 'Celebrity' description has a link on my screen.

Thought for the week:
If I'm bored out of my mind, is that akin to an out of body experience?

Yeah, it's doin' it for me.

But the weird thing is, it's not every time the page loads. Just like, every other time. Last time there were no links; then there were; then there weren't; now they are...

Tell them I hate them!

Not seeing any on dd. Might be a browser thing? Let's say if a malicious ad uses activeX to install something on your pc, then as an opera user I'm safe from that (as it ignores activex entirely... which is usually good, unless you want to use an online antivirus scanner). Or I simply didn't catch the "bug" yet.

Anyway, first time I hear about something like that. Pretty tricky, no one will think of scanning their pc and will just instead curse at the "bastard website putting ads everywhere these days".

"Product Placement" Said:

"bravo1102" Said:
Product Placement you have an ad highlight for herpes.

HA HA HA HA! I'm loving that irony.

I wonder if it's virus related or if your internet service provider is being a dick and selling you out as an ad space.

Those were my two cents.

Weird. I don't think its a virus because I'm on a totally different computer and still experiencing it(i was on a PC before, now I'm on a Mac)-- I don't think I would have the same virus on both computers. Plus SO many people are noticing this.

So far I've seen like 3 or 4 in this post alone.

The common factor would be Firefox, though, so i'm going to come right back in Safari and see what happens. I wonder if FF/Mozilla sold us out on the latest update?!?!

People who are seeing the ads: What browser are you using?!?!?

Nope. Getting the same results with Safari.... must not be a browser thing.

I haven't seen any of these.... so it's either something regional on DD's end, or something relating to people's ISP (though that seems like a pretty strange one, they don't make their money that way)

I'm getting it with IE.
For stuff like "vacuum cleaner." Good grief.
My virus scanner hasn't picked up anything - and it's happening on both computers - work and home.

ok... then it could be DD. It's either regional (and thus I'm not seeing any ads since I'd get Polish words highlighted rather then english, perhaps?) or something that Opera blocks.

Can't be a virus if it's on more than one system and can't be browser related if it pops up on several browsers.

If you're not seeing anything, what kind of browser are you using and what's your location?

But it's never the same words.

You know, I was down, deeply depressed so I took some ambien, zoloft, zocor and prozac and it perked me right up! I got them cheap from a Canadian pharmacy site. I tried viagra, but it didn't perk up my flaccid member so I turned to anti-ageing treatment instead and got a breast enlargement. Then I had hair regrowth treatment for the baldness on my boobs. Now the hair on my chest is as thick and luxurious as that on my head! I love those Canadian pharmacies! Love those generic meds!
Then I tried dating online, but its such a gamble, so I just went and played poker at an online casino instead.

But that got me depressed all over again so I quit exercizing and started eating and eating then I got really fat and heavy. So I took dieting pills and that helped a lot, no I have the perfect bod with chiselled abs! And hairy boobs!
Love those hair products!

Oh, and now I'm dating a celebrity that gives me cheap gold farmed for warhammer online, and I get free ringtones and win free ipods constantly!

I get that sometimes but not here. Other sites do it but I don't know.what the cause would be.

A webcomic where a guy wants to quit his job selling video games and gets shot at for trying.

In my day, video games gave you three chances to kill about 2000 enemies in one sitting with no pause button. Easy mode meant you got two more lives to throw away on the first boss. You don't know the meaning of hard.
