Is there a way to make ALL of the navigation links (first previous next last) show up no matter what page is being veiwed? It is nice that DD hides the useless navigation on the first and last pages, but it kind of messes up the look of my theme.

Barring that, is there a way to fill the empty space with the same color background as would be in the image if it loaded?

(Confused? see my page. The buttons that would say "next" and "last" leave a big hole on the right hand side of the theme I created)

Nope, there's no way to force it to show the buttons.

To make them the same color- if you're using a table or a div there, you can set the bgcolor of the cell/row to be the color you want. You can find out the hexadecimal code for the color in your image editor, although if it's a nonstandard color (not one of the 256 I think) then it may look slightly off in some browsers or people's setups. Not usually a problem in this day and age though.
