I was able to contact a team of scientists from NASA, MIT and the local sports bar and we got it to work. However we found that it doesn't do anything. When we took it apart we found a memory chip, some wires, a blinking light and a nine volt battery randomy held in place with super glue.

I was just wondering if this was based on something that actually exists. Afterall, there are many devices out there that make no sense.
Well, they're probably not making fun of one single thing but with the avalanche of new products that are attachable to TVs like DVD players, Tivo, all those new game consoles, digital signal receivers and so on, it's probably a jab towards that because not everyone can follow such a fast pace of change. My mom still has issues with her DVD player.
Those were my two cents.
