Been using the Duck Desktop application for a while now to keep myself updated on the go about the comics I read, but there are a few things which it that I'd personally like to see changed/fixed.

Firstly, the application doesn't seem to *know* what to do if it's connection to the server cuts or there is no outgoing connection as it starts up, which sometimes causes the application to crash or lock itself up.

Secondly, perhaps some way to mark the 'unread' comics as read? Often just stop by the updated comics when I'm already browsing DD, which means that when the Duck Desktop is started up the comics it shows as new are ones I've already read (and I have to click them all one by one to get it to show no new comics). A Mark all as Read function, or something similar, would be handy. Seen that there's something similar on the big list of suggestions, though that one suggests a way for the alerter to take comics off the 'new' list when they're accessed right from the browser rather than the alerter.

Finally - This is also on the big list of suggestions, but... Mac support? The current version is built on the .NET Framework, which only makes it compatible with Windows operation systems. Don't use a Mac myself (obviously), but it's obvious that there are several people here on DD who do.

Oooh, I really want to get the desktop application, but I can't find it anywhere on the site anymore! I didn't install it at the time because I have a Linux system and I thought a Windows application wouldn't work, but I found that quite a few Windows things work on Linux when using crossover software like Wine.

So, sorry to bust over your post, Biz3, but as I don't know the answer to your questions/or how to reply to the shortcomings of the application you experience I don't have anything useful to say to you.
Although bumping this topic up in the list might even get your post answered.

[edit] I now see that this topic is in the 'Ideas and suggestions' section. Sorry about that mods, I'm used to the typical PHPBb-style forums, I guess I overlooked the category. But since it is now already posted I figure I'll just leave it here...

If you click on 'My Account' under your avatar to the right, on that page there is a white box with a "Duck Notifier" graphic in it. :]

I don't really have an answer for the earlier suggestions... I agree the program could use a lot of improvements, but unfortunately DD hasn't had a coder for over a year now. There's no one to do those kinds of things.

So it's been right under my nose the whole time! I guess it became something I purposely overlooked because I had no interest in it, but for a too long time, so that when I did needed it, I unintentionally overlooked it. Haha. Thanks a lot man, great help.
