Breaking the Ice follows struggling actor Mick Nardelli as he journeys through awful day jobs and weird relationships...with an occasional marmot and sherpa thrown in. It's a slice of life comic that is in many ways autobiographical.

It's pretty much gag-a-day, with some longer story lines here and there. It's quirky, offbeat and character driven. Some of my influences are the EC Segar Popeye/Thimble Theater, Bloom County, Far Side among others.

I haven't drawn since I was in high school and when at Comic Con a year ago, I attended a webcomic panel. Having loved the artform since I was a kid, I decided to pick up pencil and pen and do one for my own enjoyment. You can see the strip evolve from me using templates to actually *gasp* drawing new panels

I update it pretty much weekly (on Wednesdays) and there are 76 strips and counting (it was even published as a comic book by Hopper Comics!) I invite you to check it out. If you're a fan of the humor comic strip I think you'll enjoy it.

Check out it here at Drunk Duck or at www.breakingtheiceonline.com.
