I'm in search of a proofreader to check my newest work - Jackdaw.

As a comic it doesn't really have much text but the setting is semi-historical and that makes some dialogs more challanging.

So basically, I'm searching for a person who feels confident about their English (a native-speaker best) and is willing to check through a couple of chapters (not more than 20) of a fantasy comic.

I might be willing – send me a PQ if you still need this.

It sounds interesting, and probably not a lot of work. I'm surprised you haven't gotten more replies. (The forums have been pretty slow lately, though.)

Are you just looking for someone to check for typos and grammar mistakes, or are you looking for someone to do a 'tune-up' on dialogue and make it sound more old-Englishy? (It's quite easy to make old English sound bad... essentially it is just more formal, and not necessarily heavy on contrived words.)

I'd be happy to help out if you're still looking.

The stylization is only in some dialogs (and I'll try to take care of it). Using very formal old version of English in an action comic would be unbearable for both me as the writer and you as the readers. But I do need someone who knows the secrets of "smooth speech" better than I do.
