DJ Coffman recently posted on his blog:
Say that's odd. Looks like Brian Altounian, the Chief Operating Officer from Platinum Studios went back and edited out the parts about me on the investors forum, where he was flat out lying to investors there. (something that I assume is against the law) Here's his freshly edited post. I wonder if they thought they could just erase that that ever happened? Or they probably haven't heard of a web archive either. You can read my original post about that kerfluffle HERE.
Totally ridiculous. I guess besides not having enough money to pay employees or creators, they don't have enough money to buy a few CLUES either. This is what happens when you just decide to close up your doors and stop communication

While what he says is true from his perspective, like most people he has a very limited perspective. Limited by time for one thing

Plat's over that particular hump from when before he left, it's a bit of a new world now, but he's preaching to Plat haters just exactly the info they want to hear.
I've got no special loyalty to Plat, but biased ranting and basing stuff off of redundant information is always irritating.

More and more the Plat haters are becoming DD haters as well, THAT would be the best reason to lock topics like this...
Besides, DJ, is like Lefarce and people like that in that he rants and rants and sheep go "shit yeah man, you tell it like it is!".
Cheer squad sessions make me physically ill. message to people like that: Grow some fucking nuts you slugs and question when people rant, don't affirm them.
The problem with these threads is that there isn't much to discuss (beyond what has already been discussed in other 'what do you think about Platinum, isn't this recent thing they just did so stupid' ) threads.

Hehe, so true. Pity so a small part of it is actually even recent...
You know, I've got nothing against DJ or Platinum. Platinum's standard terms are not something I'd want to sign up to, but others do and that's fine. DJ has a reputation for being outspoken and that's fine, too. Personally, I think he should sometimes think about what he says before he says it and learn to walk away from a discussion when it becomes clear that neither party is going to convince the other. But that's just me. I like to avoid unnecessary confrontation.
The one thing I've noticed about DJ's previous public statements concerning his split with Platinum, however, is that they have been extraordinarily well-balanced, very fair towards PS (even going so far as to defend their position) and completely free of heated invective. If he's now done a U-turn on that, it does seem to suggest that Platinum has done something to rock the boat.
But, frankly, that's between them. The rest of us really do not know what has or hasn't happened to change things and we should be very careful about trying to wade in on one side or the other.

Not realllllly... Umm... Look at it this way; they have various agreements in place about what you can and can't say or it might harm this or that agreement that's still in place. I know that's vague, but what can you do?
As well as that he got a lot of good stuff out of them so he couldn't really be toooo critical just because of what happened with the split.
So, yeah, he can freely rant about things that aren't affected by those two factors

He likes to rant, which is fine. But unfortunately he always seems to find a wide and receptive, unquestioning audience...

I understand that, O.O. My point is that - until now - D.J. appears to have gone out of his way to not say anything negative (uncharacteristically so, his detractors might say!) presumably because of those agreements. The fact that he now seems to have changed his stance completely suggests that something else has happened to make him do so. It may not, of course, but it would seem that way.

Yup - that's the internet for ya! Question everything, kids! And that was my point really - not that D.J. is right, but that we don't know and therefore shouldn't be defending or attacking either party.

No, I don't think he's changed stance at all, because of this:
"So, yeah, he can freely rant about things that aren't affected by those two factors"
That's what he's doing in this case. As he's actually done before.
It's not an attack at all, merely explaining how little relevance much of this has.
