A random user every day has their recommended comics on the front page somewhere. Just 5-6. And its just a random user.

Neat idea, but I don't think it would work well. Mainly because there are so many inactive users that don't have any recommended comics. Also, it would be strange, because that would not ensure quality comics being shown.

It just seems hard to execute well, and since DD doesn't have a real coder right now, it seems like not worth the effort.

People who own famous comics could be asked to choose afew comics to show for a week, or even a month...

That seems pretty subjective and I can see it turning into a popularity contest, and those people getting harrassed to reccommend a comic (or someone being hurt their comic wasn't reccommended)... if you want random, there's already a random column, and if you want selective reccommendations, there's the features. Yours is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure it's adding too much to the front page (which has a lot on it already)

Can't see how they could make it work. It would be basically sprite comic advertisement since we have billions of spriters on this website. They outweigh the none-spriting community. And all the reasons skoolmunkee mentioned.

This idea would be too awesome and would be buzzkilled like everything else.

It's not a bad idea, but when I think ahead to seeing it 'in action' there are a couple problems (already mentioned). All sprite I wouldn't mind, etc., though I suppose if users are chosen randomly, and of their reccommended comics 6 are chosen randomly (which then couldn't be changed for the day?) it would avoid the favortism stuff... hm
