You'll have to edit your template in raw HTML mode - which means you won't be able to use your template. There are some copy-and-paste templates in some stickied threads in the coding help forum if you need them to edit the design of your page.
Anyway, to add the actual vote button, just pick where you want it to appear - for simplicity's sake, I'd suggest putting it just below the author's notes - and paste the chunk of HTML that the voting website should give you right under the code for the author's notes. It should end up looking something like this -
Although the { } curly brackets will be ] [ straight brackets - the forum just doesn't seem to like it if you type the brackets correctly and won't show it.
You could place it pretty much wherever you want, though.

thanks alot i will try but i am not as good with codes as i used to be its been a while. so for now i will mess with this and see were it gets me. lol

do you know what the code is by the way?
Author's notes use BBcode, just like the forums. So you'd put...
...except with straight brackets ] [ not curly ones. If you go back to the voting site, I would imagine they give you the URL to paste into the url= section.
